I just read this thread for the first time. One of the best threads I have ever read on the boards. There is some amazing information here. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Ok, so what I am gathering is rule 5 b) needs to be rewritten. b) The Hall Of Shame is for serious transgressions. For example, selling a book/books and sending nothing of value in the package. Interfering with someone's business. Being a multiple offender. I, like many others, have misinterpreted this rule. I am sorry for that. Menace did make right on everything with me with the refund and the opp. Medina messaged me himself and said he received the paperwork and the books have been shipped to CGC. He has made right on all the other transactions to my knowledge as well. So he should not be on the HOS. I have yet to get the book from CGC but I trust Medina and his update with me. Again sorry for the misinterpreted rule. Maybe there needs to be some clarity or this just needs to be removed. (Just the bold part)

The main goal of this part of the sales area, though, should always be focused on making people whole (offended buyer or seller). If the core focus starts to go down the path of just having a permanent list, no matter how minor the offense, then this is going to validate what people are saying already - the PL/HOS doesn't really serve the purpose it was created for. This is exactly right. I get that. The main focus for only positive kudos threads is based on this. But people blame it on the noobs. That is not the case here. Many people were affected by his actions. People in his numerous opps, plus people in his sales threads that he never had enough books for etc. Not just noobs. People in the same situations that I was in are scared to come forward. I waited 5 months to come forward and people still harp on me for that. I can see how people can vote in favor of him but never state their opinions. People use excuses for his use of emails instead of pms. I sent it to both. His response to my email was that it was in his "spam" and that he was sorry. I hope people will look at these conversations and learn from them. There are risks from opps. That is why I no longer take part in them. I used to do 20-30 a year.

So the other boardies that dropped out of the Medina opp because Menace never paid Tony Daniel for his sketch opp. And when Mighty John nominated him less than a year ago. My question is: How many things do you have to do wrong to make it on the HOS? As long as he continues to make things right no matter how many offenses he will never be on a list permanently? What would you like to do? The discussion here as well as any future incidents is well documented. I would assume his opps will be scrutinized. Its not up to me. I am asking the people who continue to stick up for these people and their removal to say how this benefits the community in the long run. The lists have worked but are flawed. That is why I stated I have my own list. If people were on a list, then I will not deal with them. You play with fire, you are bound to get burned. I have seen repeat offenders. But on the flip side, I have seen people shape up and never get back on the list. But how many chances do people get? The problem with ANOTHER list there will be a chance to get voted back off. So I am not in favor of another list. I am in favor of second chances. But third, fourth etc....I am not.

I agree with you, it's very annoying. Its the main reason why I have started to say this in my sales thread: No probies or Hall of shame members or people I just do not like Cause if you just say listers, then you continue to deal with these kinds of people.

This is probably more a job for the Signature Series decision makers. Not in my opinion. Some of these offenses were from Sales threads. Not just sketch opps.

According to what you guys are saying for Menace: He made right with me on my refund. check He sent the artist the proper paperwork for the opp. check He should not be on a list at all. I wish everyone luck who deals with him in the future.

I collect Star Comics in CGC 9.8 White pages. They are hard to come by in high grade. Most you can find in dollar bins. Like what was said earlier, the first issues are not as rare. The Canadian price variants can be highly collectible in any grade.

Yes. And he did apologize saying he thought he sent out a replacement book. Now, if he continues to try and fix things like he did with you, learns from it and then comes back with a more organized and stress free signature opportunity then wouldn't he be a contributor to the boards? Don't we, as a community, want to have members that actively contribute? If the answer is yes then please understand that the HoS is a permanent scarlet letter that will not allow this to happen. The probation list does. My understanding is that the HOS poll is for being a multiple probation list offender. Not just for crooks. It's not my choice only. A poll is in place and everyone on the boards is voting. Not to throw logs on the fire, but DWC went through this and came out ok. Menace can also get off the list with another poll as well.

Actually, he was so unorganized he refunded JTWpantera first. I received a pm from him saying he received the refund from Menace by mistake this weekend.

Is this just a really long winded way of saying "Burn the Witch?" If not, expect it to fall on deaf ears. I think we can agree on the odds of anything calming the mob but I thought it was worth a try. The HOS is quickly becoming useless as well. I stopped using the "No HoS or Probies" in my sales threads. Although the list of boardies I will not accept any SS subs from has grown tremendously. In the SS forum, Menace said he never received my email. PM me your email and I can forward you his response to my email. Its not just about getting my refund. I am not going to let him bash me by saying he did not get my emails. He is showing no remorse and needs to man up and tell the truth for once.

+1 You forgot to add the Tony Daniel OP to this list as well. Several issues in this one. None of which were on the artist. Then you had the probation thing which they all got deleted because he was posting personal and paypal info on the boards. Mods deleted most of those before the next morning. And the list goes on..... As far as removing him. I did receive my refund. But I do think something else should happen here besides removing him or what is the point?

Update: Menace did send me a refund this weekend. It only took 5 months. This was not the only problem I had with this same transaction. I purchased numerous Young SS books from his sales thread. After the thread was closed he sent me a pm stating he did not have enough SS Thor 9.8 variants. I chose the Uncanny Avengers to replace it. Please beware of future dealings with this boardie. He is very unorganized.

I can say HOS is worthy for Menace. He seems to not care about his customers anymore. He has been a repeat offender. I am sure others are out there but they are scared to come forward due to the fact they want their items.

Please add Menace to the probation thread. It has been 72 hrs with no response to my new pm I created in regards to my Young SS 9.8. I contacted Medina on Facebook. All the sketches are finished for the opp. Jake has not gotten in touch with him on how to send them to CGC. So I am only requesting probation thread for my Young SS book. Hopefully, the Medina stuff will be resolved soon.
