*Sharp-eyed Picture Frame fans might notice that I've included Spidey #113 and #115 in this scan smorgasbord. The same sharp-eyed Picture Frame fans probably know that these two books are not included in the Picture Frame registry set. I'm kind of thinking that they should be.
Obviously, this is not something important. And truth be told be told, I was the guy who provided Gemma with the list of the PF books way back when. The list was floating around in this thread and I just forwarded it on to Gemma. Of course, these two covers are slightly different than the design of the rest of the PF books (except Captain America #155). Both of the books fall within the PF timeframe.
John Romita penciled both of the covers and given his stature at Marvel, I think he probably had more freedom than the rest of the cover artists at the time. I'd suggest that the newspaper clip in #113 is just a creative way of creating a Picture Frame. And #115 is just a round frame.
But that's just me. What do you guys think?
