  1. Thank you for the pickups. I think it is best to list while the boards are... actually working... So here comes some more.
  2. I am going back to bed as it is almost 4am. I want to wake up and see more stuff claimed. The more stuff that is claimed the less that I have to deal with in 3,229 days.
  3. "Alexa, how many more days until June 30, 2030." "There are three thousand, two hundred twenty nine days until June 30, 2030." I already know how my retirement will go down. I don't want a party or anything like that. I don't want any gifts or anything. I will arrange a meetup just to go out to dinner with a few people that I work with that I regularly see outside of work as well. I will let them know that this is it and then I will put in the paperwork. It will be quiet and unannounced.
  4. I remember tying up my phone line over the course of months in 2020-2021 so people can't reach me during the cell phone days. I do not pick up work calls because it got to the point that 'work' would text or call at 10pm. So around eight years ago I realized that I was more than willing to allow my voice mail to fill up so work cannot leave me a voice message. I also happen to 'miss' their calls when they call and I will not respond to a single text message that is work related after 8 or 9PM no matter the urgency. Slowly but surely it broke certain habits and trends when others got on board and did the same.
  5. I am tempted... must resist... https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/171282
  6. Damn you and your even handed response. I am getting out of bed at 2:55 in the morning to type this properly. I don't think that Bronty / Dan is being targeted as an individual when he is named. (Dan I do not think you are being targeted as an individual because I am sure you are going to read this.). Bronty / Dan is being named as a representation of all of the guys out there that are heavily invested in this, that sit on the sidelines and have absolutely nothing to do with the price manipulation scheme that Halperin and Wata are accused of orchestrating. However, despite not having a hand in price manipulation, they do benefit and they do have an interest in the maintenance of that status quo until they have cashed out at what they perceive to be the apex of the market regardless of how that market arrived to that point. It's no secret that I have a basement full of something that almost no one on the boards has. That's right. Brick City. There is Lego everywhere. If Halperin got himself in the Lego game and started messing around with Lego sales, and all of a sudden the price of the first modular building, Cafe Corner, went from $800 to $800,000, I would be cheering it on. If you. owned Cafe Corner why wouldn't you? So when I refer to Bronty, or when I addressed the 'why does it matter?' question from @Domo Arigato that was the motivation behind my answer. My responses here, at least when it comes to video games, is probably less biased than others. Bronty any anyone else who possess these graded video games are going to have a vested financial and emotional interest in seeing the status quo preserved. I want everyone reading to realize what I wrote. There is a difference between 'preserving the status quo' and 'seeing the status quo preserved.' I agree with you that the video probably has its flaws. There are a couple of stretches I noticed and I am sure that if I was more fully versed in video games I would be able to point them out. I also question the motivations of the people that made it. However, the premise does have merit given the background of the players involved. When a no longer seen board member was involved in scamming people with fish tanks and was eventually caught, he moved on to toys. When he was involved in scamming people with toys, he moved on to comics. When he was involved in scamming people with comics, he moved on someplace else and says he is 'getting help.' I knew that Halperin was involved in the coin nonsense. I never knew he was involved in mail fraud at 13 and at the age of 13 he had to pay back $100,000 by his own admittance. If that evil little mastermind didn't learn his lesson then and moved on to coins, then is it a stretch to say that he is doing the same with video games? Is it a stretch to say that he has done it with comics? Do you know how many times I shoot a link to a Heritage Auction to someone on these boards and say, "Where did we last see this?" We talk about a bubble bursting. My concern in all of this is that the bubble bursts with video games and then there is a trickle down affect down the line to anything else the crook has touched.
  7. I mentioned that… seriously I know it’s late / early but read what I wrote. It gives me concern because I DO collect all the other stuff and have used heritage as an agent to acquire these things.
  8. I like both of you but I have to say the AOL chat room comment made me laugh. Lol 😂
  9. Is that all you got out of it? let me sum up Heritage employs a crook. The crook does crooked things to benefit himself and other crooks. The crook has a history of being a crook and doing crooked things. Dan is not a crook. But, Dan and OTHER people like him while standing on the sidelines watching DO benefit from the actions of the crooks and the maintaining of the status quo. Therefore it does definitely lend insight as to the reasoning behind his argument.
  10. I am crawling into bed... It's 1:30am. More tomorrow Be sure to check out the Plastic Crack thread and mix and match.
  11. Sideshow NYCC Comic Court of the Dead NM $4 Sideshow started designing their own universe called the Court of the Dead. To coincide with their statues they decided to launch a comic to coincide with their product. This was given out (I forget the specifics) at NYCC. I think you had to be a Sideshow subscriber.
  12. Let's make a deal... Autobot Goldfire - $3 NM - Toy Variant Autobot Scoop - VF - $3 - Toy Variant Autobot Skids - $3 NM - Toy Variant Transformers Combiner Wars 7 Air Raid Cover $3 - Toy Variant This would cost $12 in this thread individually... Take them all for $8 (25% off)
  13. Look I have no skin in this game when it comes to video games... I passed on a PS5 the other day at retail and the most gaming I do these days are Simpsons Tapped out and Marvel Puzzle Quest. I am not buying nor selling games. Why does it matter? (sigh) I didn't know about it. It reframes the positions around here. If Dan was the seller and given the article that he spent a large sum of money to acquire these games in the first place, he has a vested interest in them maintaining their current value in the marketplace regardless of how the marketplace arrived at that number. As I stated before, this is the big boy version of the scam that a board member presented to me about 7-8 years ago. He wanted me to shill bid his listings in various places to create the idea of a demand for these books. I declined. You are right. Heritage has done this before. Halperin is a crook at heart. Jim Halperin has a well documented history of being what can be considered a crook, a thief, a scam artist and no better than a common bottom feeding criminal. When you admit publicly in interviews about committing SIX FIGURE mail fraud as a 13 year old child and Forbes is writing about it, I don't think he has changed much over the years. What he did as a kid he continued doing as an adult, which was scamming others. Hey remember when a certain board member was exposed at having a history of scamming others for across three decades? Why bring that up? It is not alarming that some are dismissing it. I get that. If someone was talking about someone inflating the prices of Franklin Mint plates I would shrug and go about my day. It doesn't impact me in the slightest. However, despite my not having anything to do with video games, I have bought art, comics, historical memorabilia, animation art, and currency from Heritage. What they are doing with video games they MIGHT be doing with those other areas and that gives me pause and concern. So I want to know something. How would the boards react to this? I have 12 copies of Ultimate Fallout 4 sitting in front of me. I will have six board members who I trust implicitly "buy them" publicly on the boards over the course of the next week at record prices. Then I will hold on to them and as the rest of you scramble to buy other copies on eBay and everywhere else. The value will increase dramatically and then I will really sell them next year. There really is no difference. I am doing it the way I can with the tools I have. Halperin and cronies are using Heritage auctions to buy video games to create an artificial price so they can profit off of inflated bids. So yeah, guys like Dan have an interest in preserving the market as it is because he stands a lot to gain. Who wouldn't? I want to make it perfectly clear though that I do not think that Dan is scamming anyone in any shape or form. Heritage pulling the scam of the century. Wata is pulling the scam of the century. Venues like Rally Road can use these circumstances to further run the scam / scheme that they are operating. As someone who just texted me wrote, "How many times have you and I watched the art dealers whack up a ha auction and then trade amongst themselves and raise the price over time..." So yes, we do see this frequently. Everyone profits off of what these guys did except the collector. Grading services assigning values make more money if the items are worth more because they are processed under a higher tier. Auction houses make more money in fees. Sellers make more money on their bogus value. The whole thing stinks and maybe guys like Halperin will stop being afforded the opportunity to settle out of court with mere repayments and meaningless restitution as he has with his other infractions. Maybe this will be exposed a bit wider and actual justice will be administered. I want you to take a look at Halperin's collection... http://www.jhalpe.com/ Take a good look at the Frazetta artwork, EC Pages, GA art, Schomburg Human Torch covers... everything. How much of that was obtained with the money earned by screwing over others?
