  1. You want to know why my participation in your thread is going to be fun and interesting to a few others? I had no idea what Static 45 was until I looked it up.... I am laughing out loud as I type because I am so far out of my element here, I cannot help but participate now.
  2. Sooooooooooo anyone have any leads on some cheap cards to add to this 'collection' ? They must be autographed chase cards. @jaybuck43
  3. I may have to text Hector later and make him aware of a fake Craigslist ad to go chase as to eliminate the competition... Wait, I am not supposed to say things like this out loud...
  4. I already bought something... Maybe I want to buy a few other things... Not everything I buy has to be an early action or an EC book
  5. Since there is no SDCC I request a preview night for what is to come for this large summer sales thread. Obligatory...
  6. I think I have a raw copy somewhere but I kind of want a 9.8 slabbed sample. I will be bidding.
  7. I think I will have another chance to land one then !
  8. They are actually classified as two different titles on most websites and by most dealers. Captain America Comics was what the title was under Timely Captain America is the title under Marvel. However Captain America is up to... what? Volume 5?
  9. I thought Rebels has been one of the best Star Wars things produced. I look forward to seeing what else you have.
  10. I've heard good things which is why despite my feeling dirty after buying a modern book... I um claimed the Star Wars book.
  11. When I looked for the issue in question it brought up the issue number from all volumes ( that made it that far). The issue came up but so did modern captain America.
  12. Yet, this very force power was also established as a jedi power in Rebels. I loved Rebels and think it is actually better than the majority of Clone Wars. For the record I also loved Clone Wars. Rebels Seasons 2-4 were incredibly strong... Season 1 maybe not so much though... Anywhoooo - Maul pushes BLIND Kanan out into space and he uses his force powers to get back into the ship. Keep in mind that Kanan never formally finished his jedi training in the traditional sense and was certainly no 'Skywalker'. This was truly one of the best shows. Filoni demonstrates why he 'gets it'. I am no Kathleen Kennedy hater. It is what it is. However I do think that Filoni 'gets' Star Wars way more than anyone else demonstrated as he even revealed his thoughts on Episode 1 recently at the Mandalorian behind the scenes episode. They really should give the whole thing to Filoni like they gave Marvel to Feige.
  13. Nice pickup. I've been tempted to extend my slabbed run from AF15 - 100 to issue 200. I already have all the keys of that 101 - 200 and when I see books like you just posted I am very tempted. Nice pickup. That book really does pop.
  14. I am not looking to get PMs offering this to me right now so I will not be specific. I am casually looking for a Captain America Comics book. 1 - When I punch it into your site it brings up the issue along with all volumes of the title. So even though I am looking for an issue of Captain America Comics, it yields searches for Captain America Vol 2, Vol 3, and so on... 2 - There should be a function where it does a search for the issue across all the platforms and not just by dropping the taskbar down from the selection field. GPA does this when you search for a book. 3 - Maybe after '2' is taken care of it could also sort it by price.
  15. @crassus Poll closed 121-3 with one member publicly rescinding their nay to yay and one doing it privately. Spiritually 123-1 but officially 121-3. Do... your thang. The list increases by '1'.
  16. It should be okay but you are smarter than I am in that regard. If only Arch were still around.
  17. Chip introduced himself as Chip Cataldo publicly and even his board name was Chip Cataldo. Now, I don't know if I could post the name Francis "Chip" Cataldo... but Chip Cataldo was okay as that was the board name.
  18. Did you catch the sale that stated that they will sell to anyone because "everyone deserves a second chance?" I've got to be honest here, if someone on the boards owed me money and was spending money elsewhere, I would raise an eyebrow.
  19. Personally, I love it when the guys that write up auctions sneak some things into the description. I got a laugh out of this.
  20. The job of a consignment director is to actually structure the flow of books in their auctions so that you, the buyer, maximize profit with your book. If you get the best price, then you are more likely to consign more books to their auctions which in turn increases their revenue. All of the major auction houses are limiting to some degree the flow of books in their auctions. The big three seem to be doing it: Heritage, ComicConnect, and Comiclink with their auctions. You are correct though that there are many different venues. I wanted to pick up another copy of a book. I had the lowest priced copy in grade that I was looking at open as I was bidding on the book on ComicLink. If the bidding exceeded that eBay price I would stop bidding on the book on CLink and hit the BIN on eBay. You are definitely right that there are a lot of venues for certain books.
  21. You are right but I think they are limiting it to two copies these days. The last few CLink auctions have had multiple copies of the same book in grade. Action Comics 869 Recalled Edition which is not as common as ASM 300 had three copies at 9.8 in this past auction with only one of them being a signed copy. There was a fourth copy present at 9.6. While not a 9.8, still curious to put all four books together. ASM 300 - CGC 9.6 x 2. CGC 9.4 x 2, CBCS 9.4, CGC 9.2, CGC 9.0 x 2, CGC 8.5. For some reason though they did not run a 9.8 in this past auction. (None that popped up in the search at least) However they have one in the next one that opens on 7/16 and another one that opens in the August auction. With the absence of a 9.8 in this previous auction, I don't know if they are holding the higher grade copies back or there simply wasn't one to run in the auction.
