  1. I may bid 30 times on an item... but never retract the bid. Why does this happen... When you are riding a bike to the beach or at a gym on the treadmill it is easier to up the bid with the automatic next increment using one hand rather than enter an amount...
  2. There is no logic to this. If you commit fraud, you do not get a pass based on what you did prior to committing the fraud. The debate is whether or not the Kirby signatures on the dynamic forces are indeed signatures applied by Jack Kirby himself. If Kirby received money to sign a book and had someone else do it, then Kirby did not honor the terms of that contract and committed fraud in passing off someone else's rendition of his signature as his own. This is what fraud is. It does not matter what Stan Lee did. It does not matter what Eli Manning did. It does not matter what anyone else did... that's just deflection. If we are talking about a very specific incident as described above and it went down in that manner... then it is fraud. Personal feelings aside... fraud... is 'fraud'
  3. ? Just takes me to the front of the boards... or... is this his? https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/profile/13998-dgarthwaite-migration/content/?type=forums_topic_post This is who I meant..... dgarthwaite
  4. Something like that... people would have a conversation about pressing and he would jump in saying something like, "this reminds me an obtuse conversation that I had in passing with Kurt Cobain while vacationing in France with my father shortly before Cobain died."
  5. He also speaks a lot like DarthGWait or whatever his name was who came here back around 7 years ago... he was the guy that has done everything and anything.
  6. If he makes the HOS can we please put Antiquarian in parenthesis next to the name?
  7. Unfortunately, people who have more important roles than you and I do not fully grasp that.
  8. They covered me for a $250 piece of jewelry to "Canadia" They also covered me for a $25? $30? $35? GI Joe figure to China. So... I buy into the hype.
  9. In order to do that you must have already listed it as part of the Global Shipping Program before a bid or offer was made. If an offer has yet to be made then make sure you are enrolled in Global Shipping Program. However that is a moot point. The last I checked, the eBay Global Shipping Program no longer offers seller protection with sales to Russia. Not even eBay itself trusts Russia. That should tell you what you need to know right there.
  10. Here is the original post from Google Cache... I have the follow up posts in my email.
  11. Sounds about right. I was the "mystery" subscriber to the thread last night. I wanted to see how it would end up as I had my doubts but wanted to see how it would play out without threadcrapping. Aside from the original post, I have an email for each post that he made before he wiped them clean.
  12. I was sleeping... then I awoke... then I reached for the iPad on the bureau... and here I am... this is called divine intervention
  13. Here is the real issue... here are two pics of the current LEGO city in the basement consisting of every modular in the series. The bay of Rubbermaid’s is basically all of the LEGO in storage. This does not count a couple of vintage sets in the toy curio, the Death Star, Arkham Asylum, Dr Strange building, The mustang, and vintage container crane in the office, nor the other sets strategically placed around the basement. It’s a space issue. It’s why I am always culling the herd and being more selective. I recently sold off the winter village collection and then went toward part of house renovation and the treehouse.
  14. Heads Up: PayPal Glitch with Addresses Issue: PayPal generated a generic false address on its own. Description: Person to Person transaction using goods and services with the item to be sent to my home. By the time I realized I should have received it I looked up the tracking number and saw that the item arrived to my town and bounced around from post office to post office between the village and the town and then it went back to the seller. On my PayPal account it showed that the item was supposed to be sent to my home address. HOWEVER... the seller sent me a picture and the label had printed up as 123 Main Street, my actual home town and state and zip code. The seller showed me a picture of the address. I offered to pay the full amount of shipping to have it resent and the seller suggested we split it instead. The seller prints his labels from PayPal directly and I do not believe that the seller edited the address to something undeliverable. I called up PayPal and they sent the issue to their tech department as this has happened before. Figure some would want to know since the forum sales are based on P2P sales.

I will be posting this in the FS area as well.
  16. Anyone else get that promo for discounted loose and complete Star Wars figures from Brian’s Toys? I got impulsive once I saw the prices were better than going rates on eBay. I was happily surprised at how nice of condition they were in.
  17. Anyone ever get the feeling that certain people did not get enough hugs growing up?
  18. I didn't know this, so thank you. It gives me pause to consider subscribing but I am going to have to wait. I am not doing Apple TV which is odd since I only 'do' Apple products in the house. However, since I use my parent's cable package over my Apple TV and I give them Netflix and Amazon Prime, if they express interest in Apple TV I will probably do it.
  19. Even has the missing finger ! This one stays in the box since I like the box art as well with the younger Jerry at the top while the figure comes from the "omg-95'-Jerry-don't-look-so-well-era."
  20. All I remember is someone that took some prime stuff and then offered drek after bragging about coming into a cheap collection of decent stuff just a few days prior.
  21. Something tells me that it will amount to no more and no less nonsense than already exists.
  22. After reading what some are quoting, (I still wish we had a dedicated ignore feature) I will add the following. CGC is deemed the authority on grading as they are the industry standard that the majority have come to accept and use. Frankly speaking, you can have your little opinion. You can have your little disagreement. The fact of the matter is that when someone mentions graded comic books, anyone that is in the know refers to CGC as the standard. Now, some are too young to remember the loose grading that used to go on before CGC. I understand that back then they were still in diapers. I personally believe that things were more loosely graded before the internet due to the supposed scarcity of most everything not at your local comic book store. CGC came along and filled that gap once people started trading books on the internet and needed something they could depend on. Now, when it comes to cards, people refer to PSA. They were the first. They are still mostly consistent and they set the tone. When it comes to sports autographs, I would say that Steiner Sports is the most reputable retailer of pro athlete memorabilia. When it come to comics, the community, the industry, the collector base has looked toward CGC as the industry standard. Now, has each company had a hiccup. Absolutely. To say otherwise is to deny fact. Steiner had the hiccup with game used Eli Manning stuff. PSA had a couple of issues. CGC has missed a couple of things. However, like the post office who will occasionally lose a piece of mail, these grading and authentication companies, much like the post office are still the most reliable in dealing with their respective business. Now, some could argue until the cows come home. For some, those cows don't ever seem to be returning because their sole purpose is to argue. However, it really does not matter what a minority (and I do mean a slim minority) opinion wants to say. The fact of the matter is that CGC is the grading authority because the majority of people trading comics look toward them to lead the way. You can get all philosophical as you want. To quote the great philosopher Richard Morgan Fliehr, "Whether you like it, or you don't like it, sit and down and look at it, because it's the best going today!!! WOOOOOO!!!!" @jaybuck43
