  1. The website has identical print runs for Blue and Gold... where are you getting this info?
  2. I'm surprised the 3-cover sets of Gold are still available. I thought they "sold out" last weekend? Also surprised the 3-cover Blue sets are available... after almost 2 and 1/2 hours available....
  3. This was my thought exactly. Besides, it makes me feel good when people "like" my posts.
  4. Sure thing... I'll post something tomorrow afternoon and a link here with the "first installment"
  5. Rob Guillory Commission -- WOW!! Mine is arriving from UPS tomorrow and I can't wait Recreation of 'The Menace of Trap Jaw' mini comic from the Masters of the Universe toy line. I believe Rob is still taking commissions -- can't emphasize enough how awesome this piece is!
  6. Super excited to get this commission from Rob Guillory! He KILLED it with this piece. This is a recreation from the Masters of the Universe mini-comic line that was inserted in with action figures.

  8. So, based on responses and feedback here, I won't be the one to revive the PIF thread. Alternatively, I'm going to begin a new thread with a "comic based game" with the winner of the game receiving a prize. Rules: 1) If you "win" you have to create your own game and offer a prize. The game could be as simple as a trivia question, but in the spirit of the contest, the harder the game, the better the prize should be. 2) Must specify whether International members are allowed to participate. Or if there is an expectation of helping with shipping charges... 3) There should be a level of effort in producing the game. Nothing like "Who created Amazing Spider-Man?" Don't create a question that can be 'solved' by a Google search in under a minute. 4) It doesn't matter what VALUE your prize is. There is no need to offer a prize of equal value to the previous game runner. This will hopefully alleviate the issues with the PIF thread. Before I begin the thread, "what say you?"
  9. I'm checking priority and using the same from and to zip code...
  10. Need Help With Calculating Shipping With USPS 1095 Box I've seen several posts about how the recommended way to ship CGC comics are inside a 1092, and inside a 1095 box. When I go to USPS site to calculate costs, I am getting $13.60 when I select "medium priority box" and $18.85 when I select "large priority box." I thought that local delivery would be cheaper (around $8 range). Am I doing something wrong?
  11. Post Your Bernie Wrightson Books Lost a legend today, but his name will live on in the fabulous artwork he created. Post your Bernie Wrightson books here!
  12. Snagged my 3 copies of the A,B and C unsigned sets this morning! That virgin cover is aMAZing
  13. This was a "must purchase" for me. This has been at the very top of my statue WANT list for as long as I can remember.
  14. The Tier names aren't meant to indicate a period of publications. The tier's could have just as easily been labeled Red, Green, Blue and Yellow. And the more I think about it making it CGC only really would filter out a large part of the audience. Let's have the brainstorming begin on the best way to implement a new PIF thread :-)
  15. Well right now more people think the idea should be kaboshed, but that doesn't necessarily mean the PIF shouldn't be revived at all... I'd like people to chime in on the Tier structure I mentioned on top of the thread -- or suggestions on a new implementation of the PIF thread. Would it even be worth it to restrict it to CGC graded comic books? Will there be a large enough market to entertain that possibility?
  16. That's the purpose of this post... to see if we can eliminate the problems that cause the thread to get out of hand.
  17. Reinvention of 'Pay It Forward' Thread I just want to gauge interest in starting up a new 'Pay It Forward' thread with a few revised conditions. 1) This will be a CGC Pay It Forward thread. This will help in a couple areas: easier to determine value of a book so there is less argument about whether an offering is "worthy." Past sales and GPA can be used to determine if book offerings are on equal footing. If a user doesn't subscribe to GPA, again, past eBay sales can be a solid indicator. 2) Tier structure: Bronze - $1 - $50 book Silver - $50 - $100 book Gold - $100 - $200 book Platinum - $200 - $500 book I don't anticipate many Gold or Platinum entries, but if we make that tier available it will help potential users understand what they need to submit when taking a book. The previous 'Pay It Forward' thread had almost 1800 pages of content: while there was a lot of tension at times it was a success for the majority of its existence. I hate the fact that is spiraled out of control and would like to bring it back if we can iron out the problems of the original thread. I'd like to get suggestions and opinions on this!
