  1. Take a 30 minute nap and wakeup right when one of my favorite books that I've been hunting for years gets posted.
  2. @Off PanelPanel is spot on. Heres one more off beat place. The Book Nook on Noeth Druid Hill rd in N Decatur. Ita a used book store but also gets in new releases. Theyve got (or did when I used to haunt the joint) a dozen long boxes of copper and bronze and a few boxes by the front door that are remaindered copies (sharpie mark on the top edge) from I don't know where but they refill those boxes all the time. Always managed to pull 10-20 good reads out of there on a regular basis.
  3. Once I've had both courses of the COVID vaccine I'll be looking forward to Baltimore this year. It is also announced it's 2021 dates for Oct 21-24. So plenty of time to get stuck twice and then go to a con! I cant wait. Im hoping the vaccine gets approved for kids by then as well, since my 11yo daughter loved Baltimore Comicon back in 2019, and was sad to not get to go in 2020.
  4. Its where i live! So this thing dissappeared for a month after its scan in CA after the drop of from the seller, and then magically reappeared at my local PO and will probably be on a truck for delivery tomorrow. No scans in between, nothing. No regional distribution hubs. Super weird.
  5. IT IS RISEN!!!! I dont know what it's done for the last month, maybe it just needed some "me" time.
  6. I wonder who will get the last Christmas exchange present delivered by the USPS black hole....
  7. Ok, did a lot of "trapped in the house, bored out of mind" buying this year, but heres my top 3 with appologies to the River City Copy of Space Adventures #1 and my ASM 129 tripple sig. #3 Space Adventure Charlton File Copies. Back in the summer this woman on ebay decided to unload the boxes of Charlton File copies she had bought back whem their warehouse shuttered. I was able to pickup what I thought were the three best looking copies of Space Adventure she had and got them submitted to CGC. Alas one had a stain ans got hammered, but the other two came back as highest graded and Im thrilled to add them to my registry leading Space Adventures collection #2 Okajima Camp Code book. Some of you know my love for the Okajima pedigree (if not go check out our 60+ page thread over in the Golden Ages subforum). I lucked into this book one night here on the boards. Usually Okajima camp books get snagged fast, but for some reason this one was still sitting in a thread when i noticed it at 4am during a bout of insomnia. Great Camp code and with a "war effort" themed cover to boot! This is my 4th Okajima camp book, and hopefully not the last. #1. Moebius sketch I lived in Europe for a time and really grew to love the work of Moebius (partially cause I couldnt read the French text so I just had to enjoy the art!) Ive tried and failed to win a few different Moebius pieces over the years, but this one didnt elude me! His classic Stargazer character sketched inside one of his hardcover books.
  8. Post camp, but has the classic distribution mark from the later period of the collection, and Fiction House was her favorite for sure.... A great example of the pedigree for someone to pickup.
  9. One more shot at selling this before it moves off elsewhere. Open to offers.
  10. For characters that never left (and thus never needed to be reintroduced) like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman the "1st Silver age appearance" note always feels like weaksauce marketing...
  11. Its in great condition overall, supposedly old store stock (though it must have been displayed at some point to a count for thr fading. Window is spectacular (so clear i had to double check it was there). The fading really detracts for me as a MIN collector....
  12. Cracked this set open to get building. mystery pieces? Have they done this before?
  13. It gets noted as a file copy, on a blue label. You do note it as a 'file copy' in the pedigree dropdown on the submission form. I just recently did this with my Chatlton file copies. Blue lables with notes.
  14. Examples still needed for my 80s MIB/MOC Collection: Bravestarr MIB Silverhawk MOC Boglin MIB Madballs MOC Voltron 6" MIB Matchbox version Mantech Remco MIB (this seems to be the hardest to find of my targets) and as always Star Wars Micro Collection, especially the X-wing, Tie Fighter and Snow Speeder MIB Star Wars vintage vehicle diecast MOC
  15. It already did. It used to be a 3k book and now its a $2k book. If your house value fell 33% in 4 years youd be in bad shape.
  16. Considering all the packages they are sitting on, USPS currently has the biggest CGC collection in the world
  17. Glad they got there and glad you enjoyed them! That Xmen TaS looked cool, may have to order one for myself!
  18. Fun time again this year! Thanks to@The Sledder and @HollyJollyOne for the entertainment on the day after Christmas and thanks to everyone who contributed! ...now Im off to find a box big enough for my mystery box....
  19. Is that Andy Reid tryjng to sneak up on a plate of buffalo wings?
