I'm pretty sure there were 4 covers and I'm guessing that's the total of all 4. It is a tough comic to find. I only dug up two of the four. I got 5 total and of those, 3 were the Dancer which I thought was the best of the bunch. nice!!! All I want is the dancer cover, and I didn't want buy the set, or buy one you can't pick. now this will be real hard to find. 491 per cover. Is there a date for #2. I haven't seen it in previews.

I hate being reminded about that book. I begged my mom to buy me one of those for my birthday (one showed up in the classified ads in Denver) back in 1984 - it was a publisher copy (I didn't know what that was at the time) listed for sale for $150, and I'll never forget what my mom said: "$150 for a book? I don't think so." My mom also prohibited me from seeing Iron Maiden on the World Slavery Tour when I was 11 years old, which I will hold against her for all time. SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH.

+1. I don't think I ever finished Dancer. Maybe I will this weekend. I didn't know Dancer ever finished.

the trades arent expensive True, I might try to pick up a cheap set of them. You should. After all the ups and downs with it.. It is still a GREAT story!!

I agree that in this issue and also in #5, character development is taking center stage but the action and plot are fantastic too. This world just keeps growing. Dragotta spoke about doing 50 issues but I would love to see it last longer if they can keep producing material at this high level.. At SDCC he told me they have at least 50 planned. Didn't sound like only 50. This book is only on issue #6. And it's been a great 6. I think we have so many good books out we all want a series NOW. kinda like netflix is doing.. If we got that, it think it wouldn't be so fun. Anticipation can be a good thing.

Before I knew of the boards here, I was buying ASM Hobgoblin Covers from eBay. Still have them.

I agree Larry. Five Ghosts has been an exceptional example of how to do things the right way. I certainly don't mind one variant per issue. I also have enjoyed every Phantom I've seen put out for the series......strangely enough I've been able to scoop up a variant for everything except issue #4. After the first two issues the variants got scarce or non-existent in my neck of the woods. The retailers just weren't ordering or stocking them in spite of having some volume of the regular print. EVERY Phantom variant is available at cover price in my shop.( limit 2 per family, walk in only ) It's about building a fan base for the property "AND" foot traffic for the brick & mortar shop. A true partnership. Larry, I wish you would develop a relationship with my LCS. I love the Phantom variants but $15 shipped is a little high for me on most comics. Not all LCS charge cover for these. LCS here in San Diego (iirc, I don't go there too often) charges 6.99 the 1st day or week then ups the price after.
