Just a humorous suggestion, and I doubt it would actually happen, but why not: -------------------- If the goal of variants is to draw in readership and bring attention to books, release the purple and green as ultra-limited variants, and sell them directly from Image's website. Print run of 100. Include some sort of contest that directly involves fans. Like, have fans submit "fan art" for the series and give 10 of the 100 away to your top 10 favourite that get sent in. The demand is there, I say harness the power of the secondary market. Some event like that, with an ultra low print run book....Can't even imagine the bloodbath of people trying to get it. NWM would be top of BleedingCool.com and CBR for a long time. Heck, why not do it monthly. 100 print run micro variant program, showcase a different book each month, direct from Image's website. That's not a bad idea. Lets not do too much, when they start popping up on Home Shopping Network like in the 90s.. All our fun will be gone again.

Man I remember trying to find a 9.8 raw for that issue when it first came out. I think it took me 4 tries to find one that I thought could be 9.8. I hate buying comics that are already bagged sometime. You can look as close as you want to but can still miss things until you get home and open it up. Love that book.
