I'll pound you to a "Pulp" if you don't show off yours!

And a couple more Argosy issues from my LCS; the March 11 1922 was the last issue from March 1922 I needed. I enjoy the off register covers occasionally, so it's kinda fun to see this one. I wouldn't like all my books like that, though. The Sept. 26, 1936 issue has part two of "Tarzan and the Magic Men", which was eventually part of Tarzan the Magnificent. -
Comics, Pulps, and Paperbacks: Why such a discrepancy in values?

Honestly, with the digests I figure it's pretty much a toss-up; they fit both places fairly well. -
Today's book. And with this, I can claim to have the complete run of another EC title, if not a complete series... I consider WS-F and ISF to be one series, despite the name change, just like Crypt of Terror/ Tales from the Crypt. Still, very happy to have this one. I still have a long ways to go on the SF books, but I think I can finally describe myself as well begun on getting them, at least.

And here's the other book, Shock Suspenstories #9. A great first issue of the title to start with, I think. Bradbury's "The October Game", "Came the Dawn", and "Carrion Death".

Two EC's in today. The first is what I could probably best describe as a nice coverless copy which happened to come with a large chunk of the front cover. Lower grade than what even I would normally go for. But for $10 it was worth it. 50 Girls 50 is one of the most famous EC SF stories for a very good reason.

Walt Kelly to Sheldon Mayer. (What's the connection? They're my two all time favorite comic book artists.)

It's one of my favorite pulp covers, that's for sure. Lovecraftian monsters who are also librarians? I love it so much I had a t-shirt made with the image. -

Nice one! I have the Gregg Press HC from 1981, but that was issued without a DJ. I've also got these: -

And in the mail today. Part 2 of "Red Nails", and, sadly, the announcement of Robert E. Howard's death. -

A couple more Argosy's from the box at my LCS; this gives me 3 of the 4 issues from March 1922. Both of these have parts of "The Chessmen of Mars" by Burroughs. The 18th is rough but not too bad considering and the 25th is just beautiful in hand. I have made it clear to the shop owner that I'll keep buying these one or two a week until they're gone at the $10 each he's asking, apparently I'm the only taker so far. -

This one has the second part of "The Cometeers", one of Williamson's Legion of Space stories. For some reason, that's not the story in the issue people focus on : -
Superman #14 and Supergirl #33 -- whatcha' Hearing?

We'll see if my shop has these for me, I specifically asked them to hold them for me last week. But I want them as Legion appearances in any case. -

I know that, when I finally went looking for the Legion 264, I found a copy fairly quickly. I would agree that it's the easiest of the big 8 to get, but it's still a tricky book.

Forgive my ignorance. I know about the Weird Tales Batwoman, but what is the Spicy Mystery Batman? -

Maybe it's just me, but it seems to me that pulps have two prices right now: Way too high or way too low. More comic fans are starting to discover the market and way too willing to pay crazy prices because they're thinking about what comparable comics would go for. But the market is still small enough that unless you get the book in front of the eyes of enough potential buyers, they can go for a song. I find it hard to believe the right price for a fine or so pulp with supple pages and a Tarzan appearance from 1938 is $10, for example.
