  1. It's a copy of Superman and The Great Cleveland Fire from 1948 which was produced for a hospital fund. Also the comic next to The All-Flash #1 is a copy of Narrative Illustrated, The Story of the Comics. Several different version of this book exist with different inserts of the religious comic.

You are correct on both counts, and I am staggeringly impressed. How on EARTH did you identify the ridiculously rare "Cleveland Fire" ?????

  2. What is the issue that looks coverless to the right of the Superman 14 shield cover, and the one immediately above that one, to the right of the Defend Your Home issue?

Ah, I just guessed from the Overstreet listing description. I seem to recall your posting the Comics Code issue that didn't appear to have a cover.

Ah, now that's there, and if you look closely you will see it's there, but it's not the comic you asked about to the right of the comic that you thought was a Superman 14 but that isn't a Superman 14 at all.

  3. What is the issue that looks coverless to the right of the Superman 14 shield cover, and the one immediately above that one, to the right of the Defend Your Home issue?

Firstly that's not a Superman 14, and secondly, if I tell you everything, then no-one has a chance to guess what they are.

There are no coverless comics there unless they were issued that way ( a clue ??)

  4. Whatever that modern Batman issue is (608 retailer incentive?), it has no business being in such close proximity to the Action 1!

The pic of ninety one comics has four, just four, comics post the 1950s, and all four are either worth a fortune or incredibly impossibly rare.

The pic of forty comics are just Golden Age.

But in the pic of 91 comics, it would have been criminal not to include those particular four, as they're on a pic which is supposed to demonstrate DC's rarest output over the last seventy years.

  5. I have three amazing photos. They're each a couple of MBs, so I can't post them up.

One photo has the 91 rarest DCs on it.

The second has me standing in front of the display.

The third has just 40 Golden Age keys on it.

I hope someone can convert them to 150kbs, because I'm aching to find out if ANYONE can identify all 91 in the first pic. I don't think anyone can. But I'm longing to find out.

As it would be so nice to put them up tonight, can anyone on here receive them from me, convert them into 150kbs each, without losing too much definition, and re-mail them back to me, so I can start a special thread just for the photos ????

If any kind soul would like to, you'll be the first person to see these amazing photos, which were taken two hours ago, If anyone can, please reply urgently.

  7. "Well, firstly I sent wants lists to every major dealer...Then as they acquired books over several years, I bought them. Now I have every one."

I can't see it being as enlightening as an interview with Jerry Robinson or Carmine Infantino...

    Wanna bet ???????

  8. As long as everyone here knows I wasn't slamming Sugar and Spike. I think he mis-read the post. I then tried to clarify, but at this point I don't care.

I wasn't being critical, I was just seizing an opportunity to point out how much I adore Sugar and Spike.

I'd rather read them than Crisis On Infinite Earth ANYDAY.

  9. So, what you're saying IAN is that the collection really ISN'T complete if you don't have a #24...

No. I'm saying that the Bionicles fall in with the new comics, which I pick up as they come out. Having said that, Bionicle is more like a custom press by DC for Lego, so it more fits in with the promos anyway. It is not offered by Diamond for sale, apart from that one single trade paperback.

In fact, it more fits in with the Superman/Bradman comic, except for the rarity part.
