  1. #s 22 and 26 are the top two covers of that title for me too (and I suspect most Atlas devotees). Great books.
  2. That's probably on the low side for a JIUK 36 in that grade. And I'm afraid so.
  3. No insult intended. I just find that word funny.
  4. Have you seen many at all of this book? I saw one a couple months ago on Ebay but that's a scarce book. There must have been hundreds of WD #1's for sale, unsold and sold, in the same three month time period. On the Mystery Tales the census shows 3 graded copies, total, compared to Walking Dead #1 1st print's 1700+ and climbing. On the Mystery Tales we haven't reached the point where there less buyers than sellers. I lost the one on eBay the other night. They pop up from time to time. Obviously they are less obtainable than a WD 1 9.8. But you have to keep in mind that no one cared about this book until Richard Alpert asked a young John Locke which of the items (including the comic) were "his". The book went from being a $100 book in lower mid grade (like any other atlas sci fi mystery book of the time) to a $1100+ lower mid grade raw book almost overnight. The book was featured in one scene as a prop. Walking Dead has turned into a franchise. The makers of Lost had to pick not just an unattainable Atlas book, but one from that title, which is notorious for the demand it has gained in the last eighteen months (as mentioned often enough in the GA section). And it was a blink and you'll miss it appearance.
  5. The market is obviously strong in the upper grades, but oddly enough lower grade copies of that book seem to be even more thin on the ground. I wouldn't expect to pay in excess of $200 for a book in that range, though, although Atlas books have been somewhat resurgent this year.
  6. Oops, my bad. Did you take part in that thread though? It was actually great entertainment...books were going for several hundred dollars in seconds. I remember Goldust got some nice books but I think he missed out on the 19. It was a nice, nice copy. It was almost a complete run. Issue 40 was conspicuously missing though...and I'm still looking for that one... I picked up err, a few issues, but got caught off guard when the 19 came along. Always been a favorite of mine - no surprise when the frenzy ensued over that book. Slacker. Whoa!

  8. I was following that auction, assuming that everyone else on the thread was as well. The MT 21 looked nice, but the money book was surprisingly the obscured one. Clearly the market is good when bidders are prepared to go long without a complete scan.
  9. Yes, a single buyer has been responsible for the hype - he's been doing this for some years now. He's been on hiatus for a while now, however.
  10. Yes gentlemen, it's Saturday night and I'm posting graemlins on a thread that nobody cares about.
  11. My mom always hated to cook cabbage because she thought the house smelled for three days. +1 You were lucky. In my house we couldn't afford to cook cabbage. We had to eat it raw. Let's just cut to the chase.
  12. You must be worthy of a custom title. Or say something incredibly stupid. Or wear something red. Worked for me. First time for everything. You'll experience that moment eventually. I did when I met you. And you've been more than grateful.
