Came across an original owner collection a little while ago, and got to check it out today. Bought about a dozen books. Here are a few...

 

 

 

 

 

..nice,...the owner actually let you cherry pick a dozen books?...how unusual,...

This weekend was the last hurrah for me buying back issues for quite some time as I gave them up for Lent (and then I am on trial through mid May, so will barely even know what's going on with comics), but last night a bid was accepted on one of my favorite Batman covers of all time!

 

..Sweet Book Brian,... ...I always remember this being one of Dave's (DAM60) grails,..didn't realize it was yours too,...do you both have a nice copy now?...

This just came in...don't see this book that often, and I was lucky enough to snag the "D" Crippen copy:

..that has to be the most horrific propaganda cover I've ever seen,...

...AWESOME!!,..I suppose you already know that awkward yellow splash that says "80 Page Giant",..was to cover the word "Giant",..it was originally suppose to be Giant Superman Annual #9 and the DC house adds actually show the coming attractions as that,..it was changed to 80 Page Giant #1 at the last minute before it went to print,...

...I did get these two recently,...too bad they are marvels,...

Finally I bit the bullet and filled a big gap in my collection:

 

 

Decided I couldn't let it go. Been looking for years (the SD Con never had a nice one). Big weight off my shoulders.

 

Paid more than I wanted to, but who knows when another will come around??

Kudos to the_rocketeer for the sweet 9.6 GS Conan #1. Shipping was lightning fast (though he does live about 30 miles south of me).

..you do realize that if that grades 9.6 or better I want it back,...it has MUCH better centering than my slabbed 9.6 white copy....I just never got arounnd to subbing it myself
