1. Ah! I think there's a story here, and I believe I can tell that story... I will have things to say about one very (in)famous collector... Give me a few minutes. Ah one question: did they mention a provenance for those pulps?
2. Look at the colors on those Dime Westerns! Why am I not surprised that I am not surprised by the condition of these?
3. That spicy is way cheaper! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spicy-Mystery-H-J-Ward-Cover-Comic-Plup-Msgazine-1930s-/231143051763?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35d13311f3
4. Well, it's one of those that you need have and since I didn't have it...
5. Yeah but we are talking color of spines here, not showing off!
6. Always handy to have a Bangzoom around when you have such questions! The July 1925, anyone?
7. Thanks, BZ, but I was asking about the spines, not the borders.
8. Yes, I have been buying the facsimiles as well, and they are white until, at least the Feb 1925 issue, hence the question.
9. Speaking of black or red covers, when did WT switch from white to red spines? I thought they had been red from the beginning, but obviously not.
10. What a bunch of wonderful covers! Those Bangzoom Weird Tales are just; well, you know... I used to own a killer copy of WT March 1933; but when I started reading it, I realized it was missing 20 or so pages inside.Sent it back; still waiting for that uber nice copy...
11. And I see that the only issue we are missing (Oct 1930) contains one story by Clark Ashton Smith. What a small world.
12. Nice covers as well, but definitely not on a par with the first one.
13. Those are some very nice pulps and covers! Congrats! That Amazing Detective Tales really is something!
14. And speaking of REH, here's the latest addition to the collection!
15. No known copy at the moment, but there was at least one set of tear sheets from "The Shadow Kingdom" autographed by REH that was in circulation in the 1960s or 70s.
16. A perfect occasion to pitch the latest offering from the Howard Foundation, with the first (of four) volume covering the entirety of Howard's boxing fiction, with all the pulp stories, plenty rare unpublished stuff and uncensored texts. And lookit that cover by Tom Gianni! http://www.rehfoundation.org/2013/04/30/pre-order-fists-of-iron/
17. I think I posted that earlier, but here it is in case other people want to see that. It's a tough, tough pulp.
18. Well sure, I have a 300 dpi version ready, if you want that...
19. Somehow I knew you'd be the one who had won those two Congrats!
20. More REH goodness: "Swords of Shahrazar", the first Kirby O'Donnell from the oh-so-elusive pulp Top-Notch (Oct 1934)
