  1. He did something similar with his Alpha Flight #17 sale. Described it as "First appearance of Big Hero Six" in big bold copy, and then formatted less prominently in the paragraph following it "by their creators," as if the first work by a creative team that's not an actual first appearance is something that collectors care about. Clearly intended to deceive people into thinking that it was the first appearance of Big Hero Six. Most people know what they are buying, you're trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. You can't do anything about who writes what on their auctions, the buyer needs to understand what they are buying. It really has no effect on you on, so why not just worry about yourself? I'm not in Divad's corner since i've had beef with him in the past but people on here are splitting hairs on his product descriptions about what is "exactly correct to a tee" needs to stop, try going outside for a walk, get some exercise since I know most of you people could use it. Maybe the buyer should be cognizant of what they're buying, but that doesn't absolve his responsibility. How would you feel if a parent or relative of yours got fleeced from a greasy salesman? What he's doing is dishonest, plain and simple. Again, it doesn't relate to you. eBay does have a return policy and even some sellers don't know everything. I think you guys are just tired of seeing him post his auction results in the thread, well...I'm tired of reading off topic nonsense like this in the thread. Maybe you should call the eBay police and tell them you don't agree with his comic descriptions, besides, most people don't even read them anyway, they just hit the BIN/Bid button. If the buyer buys it and is happy with it, then who is he hurting? You? The collector sitting on his over weight rear end at the comic store playing magic cards with teenagers? The guy down the street? Ever think the buyer knows and actually wants the issue? Maybe he's trying to put an Alpha Flight run together? Maybe he's trying to grab all the Big Hero 6 appearances...You're not the buyer and you're not a mind reader and that goes for anyone complaining about someone's auction trying to sell a book, you don't know the buyer's intent. Plain and simple. And to answer your question about my parents or one of my relatives being taken advantage of "greasy salesman" I'd laugh at them for being so stupid and not doing your research beforehand. I work in the trading division of an investment firm of 39 billion AUM, I couldn't care less about a guy making $10-15 on a comic book. What's he doing is sleazy, if you want to hang out with this clown be my guest. I have to be honest here bud, other than the grammar police nothing irks me more than those who brag about their job in investments or stocks in a comic book forum. That's funny, because nothing irks me more than others telling people what irks them on a comic book forum Nothing irks me more than telling people who tell others they irk them about their irking and when it irks...wait... To be fair, what really irks me is when noobs try to tell other people on here how to act....but I didn't want to be mean to the n00b. Damn newbs!

  6. Maybe if you just retract this stoopid comment we can talk. That's my opinion. Calling it stupid is not appreciated. Another opinion, you're a real . Your opinion that someone else's opinion is stoopid is ok though? Where did I say anybody's opinion was stupid? I was saying it was lucky for those who had the comic that a movie announcement was made. Do a poll and see how many people bought multiple copies of that comic 9 years ago in anticipation of a movie. How many times have you heard this expression on these boards, "Who saw it coming?" I suspect the answer to your question is :"no one." But that wasn't ever my point. My point was, in 2005, Detective #474 enjoyed a brief fling with hotness, and therefore now had a higher *probability* of making a comeback at some point in the future. If the buying public at some point in time recognized it as special over, say, #473 or #477, and they did, the chances increased that such a book could be popular again someday. And, that day has come. At no point did I say, or imply, that "if you were smart, you would have bought the book 9 years ago in anticipation of a movie", firstly, because that would be silly, and secondly, because 9 years ago, "movie announcements = $$$" were still in the future. Several books that were "once hot, now not" have enjoyed a likewise renaissance in the past few years. New Mutants #87s, you couldn't give away in the late 90's/early 2000's. Same with 98s. Same with Man of Steel #18s. Same with Infinity Gauntlet, and ALL the Starlin 70's stuff (which was hot in the 70's, then dead, then hot again in the early 90's, then dead, now hot again in the 10's.) I bought scads and scads of Starlin Captain Marvels and Warlocks, in high grade, in the early 00's, for $2-$3-$4 each. I think the most I paid for a Strange Tales #180 was $4.50. Now look. That wasn't in anticipation of Gamora being in GOTG, I assure you. It was because the books had a track record, and therefore had a greater *chance* at becoming popular again...same as Tec #474. No. And no one said anything like that. Or, they might be glad that they studied the market, learned how it worked, and reacted accordingly. I don't think he understands the Lyria's fundamental theory to collecting that states: once hot and now not - will be hot again.
  7. DC Super-Stars #17 9.8 @ $375, 14 bids & 27 watchers within hours of being posted. 1st Huntress. Was she mentioned on Gotham or something? I can't keep track of all the new budding hot characters coming out in movies and tv shows anymore. Luckily there's a website that does that!
  8. The latest trending Modern Age comics according to Lyria: TMNT Ghost Busters #1 Red Cover Variant @ $53 & 14 bids Angela Asgards Assassin #1 1:100 variant @ $36 & 13 bids (sweet cover) Edge of Spider-Verse #2 @ $27 & 15 bids. The variant is also doing really well. And a ton more that everyone here has already covered. (thumbs u
  9. It would go for monies. Lots and lots of monies.
  10. And one I haven't seen on the Lyria homepage before: Omac #1 CGC 9.8 @ $117 & 29 bids. Seems interesting...
  11. I 2nd this information. Detective #474 CGC 9.8 @ $354 is muy bueno. Seller Top Notch Comics is always finding these amazing comics from somewhere...
  12. I'm bringing up my copy again to ask a question - The name David (G?)Zower appears on the cover and I'm remember a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #23 I believe I sold way back in 2002ish with the same name. Do anyone else have a copy of Spidey with this name on the cover?
  13. I remember that seller name popping up as one to avoid. Is it possible this isn't legit? And Geeks wins the kewpie doll! Here's a link and here's another. Just two of many, many, multiple threads about these clowns.
  14. Thor #337 CGC 9.8 @ $137 & 13 bids.Love me some Beta Ray Bill. (thumbs u
  15. Also, copies of Tomb of Dracula #10 have been trending lately. Did I miss a movie announcement? This NM copy @ $167 & 56 watchers. I've been ignoring it because I thought it was just an issue or two bumping up in price but copies keep popping up on Lyria.
  16. Fantastic Four #36 VF+ @ $36 & 58 watchers getting a nice market bump thanks to the Inhumans connection. (thumbs u
  17. Ms. Marvel #18 NM @ $172 @ 57 watchers. I haven't seen this much interest in the book even when Mystique showed up in the X-Men movies.
  18. Not sure if this is a Copper Age or a Modern Age book but here goes: Batman Harley Quinn #1 CGC 9.8 @ $175 & 59 watchers. That's a pretty impressive number. Is the market finding room for 2 Harley Quinn keys or has Batman Adventures #12 gotten to expensive?
  19. Black Panther #1 CGC 9.8 @ $415 & 39 watchers. Still 4 days left. How crazy is that? (thumbs u
  20. IDW's Ghostbusters & TMNT #1 Gold Variant @ $127 & 44 watchers. Actually, I see a couple of them on the top ten. So it's popular at the moment. Tooth & Claw #1 Black and White Variant @ $22 & 37 watchers. I don't know anything about this one. Edge of Spider-Verse #2 1:25 Variant @ $87 & 30 bids. I have numerous copies of these variants along with the regular cover all over the Modern Age section of Lyria. It's something of a phenomena for spidey lore lovers.
  21. Darkhawk #1 CGC 9.8 @ $100 & 1 bid finally made the top ten list on Lyria as Most Expensive Graded Copper Comic on eBay today.
  22. Amazing Spider-Man #301 CGC 9.8 @ $478 & 37 watchers. Probably has something to do with all the discussions about it around here... But of course CGC boards never influence the market.
