  5. In my opinion this is the worst policy decision CGC has made, and the full negative effects of this decision won't be seen for years as more and more books are destroyed.
  6. Maybe. I like Contact 12 better than all of them
  7. Incidentally, $45k on that copy wouldn't be enough for me either.
  8. Awesome. Seems like only a matter of time until BB 105 catches up to those Mask prices.
  9. Trimmed, with that info buried in the description.
  10. Change political views to misogynistic views and we are getting warmer.
  11. I would point back to my reference to Golden Age collecting in that, when only a handful of copies trade in any given time frame, FMV stops being whatever the last sale was in grade and becomes whatever the current owner of that grade is willing to take. As an example, I own a copy of Contact 12 in 6.0. The last sale was something like $3600 or thereabouts earlier this year. I received a private offer in that amount soon afterward, with the offerer figuring that was FMV. Based on the recent sale his offer was absolutely fair. However I rejected it without any thought, knowing if I sold it then I would never own a copy that nice again. Maybe I'm way off on all of this but I'm primarily a GA collector and TMNT 1 is showing similar market traits.
  12. To expand on this specific point, with the intense price escalation of first prints these last few months my desire to sell my copy has decreased rather than increased because I know, once I sell it, I am immediately priced out from getting another copy.
  13. The trend on this book is becoming similar to that which is found with Golden Age comics. Once the high grades become unattainable for most collectors the "sweet spot" becomes nicely presenting mid-graders, and that's where the price escalations will start to move beyond the value of other grades proportionately. It won't be as simple as saying, if a 9.0 is worth this much then a 6.0 MUST be worth a certain relative point amount. The 6.0 will be more attractive to a broader set of buyers because it still looks pretty good but will be a lot cheaper than a high grade copy. This is often how the Golden Age market functions.
  14. Thanks, and that is for certain. I had to hunt pretty hard for a few of them.
  15. Three activity books with Cole covers, all in the VG range. $60.
