  1. ^ Shelton is certainly prolific! For a good price you can get related characters, would look good on the wall together. If he'd only stop drawing them nude...
  2. I've wanted a Stan Sakai commission for a very long time, but don't live near his convention circuit. I was very happy to buy this! http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=894208&GSub=130566
  3. I have an ongoing commission series with Bruce Patterson. Next time I talk to him I'll point him this way, see if he remembers!
  4. He really does. His name will definitely be at the top of the list for the next piece I want to commission, that's for sure! I'm not creative enough to think of things I'd like drawn for me all the time, but sometimes inspiration hits. I actually first saw the piece on my phone, when it buzzed and let me know I had an email. I opened it up, excited, and said out loud, "...Huh." I was dumbfounded, I love how it's close enough to Stan's style to be a worthy tribute, yet still has a few touches that separate it from the norm. Thanks for the kind words!
  5. For a long time now I have wanted an Usagi Yojimbo commission. Because I don't live near normal convention circuits, and since Stan Sakai doesn't ship commissions, I don't know if I will ever be able to get one from the man himself. Still, I have always heard extremely good things about Mike DeCarlo, and now I understand why. This was my first true commission, where I told the artist what I wanted and awaited the results. I was floored when I saw what he had done. Not to steal too much from Michael Finn's One Minute Later gallery, but that is sort of what I went for here. I didn't search far for inspiration--the very first page of Usagi Yojimbo volume 1, issue 1 has always been a favorite of mine. I love the scale and the passivity of the scene. I asked Mike for what would come next in the scene. The result is fantastic. 6. Whoops. Here is the artist's description: original painting from 2008 9.75" x 32.75" ink and wash on arches watercolor paper Haubrick is having an "April Fools" sale on his etsy shop. He has posted quite a few originals if you all want to check him out. I have been wanting to get a piece from him for probably about a year now, but he didn't post many originals that caught my eye. I sent the fiance pictures of three of the ones he posted, asked her which she liked the best, and we both happened to agree on this one. The size of the piece is a big plus, I don't have anything quite like it in my collection so when I frame it, it will definitely stand out on the wall.
  7. WOW that Sean Chen splash is gorgeous! Here is one I'm excited to receive. A Tom Haubrick painting, many thanks to the gallery of mr not so nice for introducing me to this fantastic artist.
  8. Hey, congrats! Have you placed more than that? What I mean is, do you know where some of the pieces you don't own are? Or do you own the only 20 you know of? Good luck, hope you complete it!
  9. Very nice! I just have something small today. A 3"x4" doodle from Katie Cook. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=861667&GSub=125907
  10. Today's purchase is a Joëlle Jones doodle of Daenerys Targaryen from GRRM's/HBO's Game of Thrones. Love the eyes...
  11. New to the forum, figured I'd jump on this thread if that's ok! I've got two new pieces. Sorry for the terrible pictures, I only have a phone camera and no scanner. The first is a page from Knuckles the Echidna #30 (I collect a lot of Archie Sonic artwork) penciled by Ramona Fradon. I feel sort of honored to have a page of hers, even if it's not one from her famous books. I also just received a set of 9 commissioned sketch cards from Bruce Patterson. The theme was monsters from his imagination, but done in evolution and type styles like Pokemon. I'm 23 now and a nerd, so Pokemon was big for me when I was younger.
