Wow! Nice copy. Nicer than mine for sure. Is it just me or are the super hero MLJ books getting harder to come across all the time? It would seem that they've been discovered by more collectors & that they're slowly evaporating from the market. Books that wouldn't sell 10 years ago, I can't even FIND now They've never been that easy to find, but Blue Ribbon and Top Notch used to be slow sellers. Not any more.

I think it was just two people who really wanted the book and both put in a "can't fail" bid on it. Very tough book, but not a $1K book IMO.

1 through 13 seem to show up less often than later issues. The single staple books (1-9 IIRC) are difficult to find with attached covers.I would consider them fairly scarce, especially above 4.0. Once you get past 20, Archie was a very popular title and the print runs were high. These are very common in low grade, but still scarce in higher grade (6.0 up). I would guess these exist in the thousands, but don't really know.

At long last the run is done. Here is the beater #4 to finish that I was able to get off the bay. Will need to upgrade but I'm just happy to be done with this short but very tough run. I still need 2 and 3
