  1. well, I know who outbid me... so, you get both a and a Apparently Parker was going to bid on that as well. But a computer glitch caused his bid to go in a little late. figures, I would have been 3rd fiddle... No wonder it was so cheap
  2. I thought so, too. One of my very favorite covers from the title (thumbs u
  3. I know this is a short bus thread book to many, but I was very happy to pick up this very nice copy (with white pages!) of Young Love #1. Lots o' Simon & Kirby
  4. Awesome books--love the pharmaceuticals, too...
  5. If it was me, which thankfully it's not, I would try for a very different time frame--either earlier or later. I think the coolest thing about the month collection is that it gives you a great idea of what was on sale in a given time period. So, either earlier or later would seem to make sense to me. For ideas, I'd go with December 1941 (first appearance of Archie), ?/1947 or whenever FC 178 (first Scrooge) came out, or for SA, maybe the month before Showcase 4 or FF 1 hit the stands. I'm sure there's lots of other interesting time frames one can think of.
  6. Yes, that's the one I need ... I missed your initial premise...all books from March 1952 I get, but why? I thought that's what was going on: March 1952 is the on sale date for Four Color # 386 a.k.a. Uncle Scrooge # 1 so it's a cross-section of the comic world at that point in time. (thumbs u As for my interest in FC 386, well, that's pretty simple as seen by the screen name and all ... I love it...I often thought of doing my birth month/year... isn't that just Obadiah?
  7. Amazing group shots Michael Out of curiosity (and, because I know you will know the answer ), how many first issues of long running titles came out that month? Obviously Scrooge, but I also see Tubby #1. Any others?
  8. No, it's reasonably common. Certainly not rare.
  9. Thats reminds me Rick, I ice-packed up my spleen, and Fed Ex just picked it up, so that should be there in about three days (I sent it economy)! (thumbs u I thought you were overnighting.... Send him a spleen and he still wants a kidney.... You don't need your spleen...
  10. Great book! I love the note about it being bought while on vacation. In Mauston Wisconsin, no less...
  11. I see they converted the swastikas to little boxes
  12. how many Timelys now? gotta be gettin' up there. pretty stuff, sir. he is already surpassing me, which means you are next Even if you count teen humor I'm still way behind the massive Parker hoard...
  13. Thanks (thumbs u The Capt. Hero is the nicest non-pedigree Silver Age Archie I've ever seen. An easy 9.4/9.6
