Here's the latest YouTube videos from yours truly. I'm getting close to 200 subs, so I'm doing a giveaway!

I also picked up some new stuff, including this awesome romance comic I never heard of before:

And speaking of romance comics, here's a look at one of my favorite ongoing soap opera storylines ever:

I've been so focused on getting the Kickstarter up and running for the first issue of my Boy Comics revival The Crimebusters that I haven't had any time to actually begin working on the second issue.
This weekend, though, I was finally able to start working on it!
Here's an early look at the first draft linework for the regular cover for the second issue. I'm hoping to do the Legacy Number Variant cover soon as well, which will have the #121 on it instead of #2 - and which will be an homage to one of my favorite comic covers of all time, Planet Comics #71. But for now, here's a look at the regular cover!

It's been too long since I updated here, but I've just been super busy. I have now sent out rewards to almost everyone, just a couple stragglers. There was a bit of a snafu at the printer with some variants that delayed things by a couple weeks, but in the end, everything worked out.
I'm hard at work on the second issue at the moment, just finishing up page 11. Things are going faster this time around, so I hope to have the issue done in November, but I will probably wait until January to launch it in Kickstarter because of the holidays.
In the meantime, I'm going to be at two conventions! Tomorrow - Saturday, August 17 - I will be at Fan Expo Boston from 2-7 pm at booth A1200 in Artist's Alley, representing the Boston Comics Roundtable. I will have copies of The Crimebusters, as well as very limited supplies of a couple variant covers, so if you're around, stop by and say hi! You can't miss me - I'll also be cosplaying as Wonder Woman.
Next month, I will also be appearing at Catamount Comics Expo in Burlington, Vermont, on Saturday, September 14! This will be my first show with my own table, so I'm really excited and curious to see how it goes. I am hoping by then to also have some prints to sell, but who knows. If you're in the Vermont area, stop by and say hello!

Man, the updates are coming fast and furious!
I've just finished setting up a new mailing list entry portal, and I wanted to share it with everyone here. I just send out one email a month to give updates on The Crimebusters - a little more often when it's actually time for a new issue - so if you're interested, it's a great way to get the direct scoop. Anyone who signs up now will get a welcome email that includes a link to a new digital ashcan which has short previews for both issues 1 and 2, as well as variant covers and a new pinup. And I'm going to try to offer fun digital content to people on the mailing list as well from time to time.
Anyway, no hard sell here, just wanted to let you guys know about it. Thanks for the interest and the support, I appreciate it!

The Kickstarter campaign for the first issue of The Crimebusters is complete, and was a rousing success. Thanks so much to everyone who supported it! I'm really looking forward to sending out the comic and hearing what you all think. And I'm hard at work already on issue #2, so I'll certainly be sharing plenty more as we go.
    Thanks!

    Aaaaah!
I'm super excited to announce that my comic The Crimebusters is now live on Kickstarter!
    Finally!
Thanks to everyone for all the support throughout this process. As you guys know, bringing Chuck Chandler back to life has been a goal of mine for over a decade now, so this is really exciting for me, and I can't wait to share this comic with you. If anybody has any questions aout the project, or about the Kickstarter campaign, let me know!

The second part of this epic three-part examination of Mark Evanier and Dan Spiegle's 1980's Blackhawk run is now available to listen to. I guarantee this is the only podcast in the world that will deliver three hours of conversation about Mark Evanier's Blackhawk!
In this middle installment, we start going through the actual issues themselves, discussing #251-259 in detail. Enjoy!

    Hello everyone!
I'm excited to share with you a live launch party for my new comic Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam that I will be hosting on Sunday, June 27, at 7 pm ET. Everyone is welcome to join in!

I also wanted to share some of the variant covers with you.
This one is by Ryan Mendoza, the regular artist on Miskatonic High. This will be limited to 250 copies printed, and there will also be a virgin variant with just 50 copies printed:

This vintage wrestling poster variant is drawn by myself, and there will be just 50 copies printed:

And this one is also drawn by me, with just 25 copies printed:

And here's the link to the Kickstarter campaign! Thanks, everyone!

Whew. It's been a really long, hard week for me. Just feel like I'm sick all the time, and it was also the anniversary of my mother's death, which always leads to health issues for me.
But, on the bright side, the Kickstarter campaign to publish issue #2 of The Crimebusters is going really well! So, thank you for all your support.
We've hit a couple of big milestones, which means it's also time to announce the next round of big stretch goals. So check it out when you have a chance!
    Thanks!

First, thanks to everyone who supported the first issue of The Crimebusters and helped make it a reality. I'm super grateful!
I'm currently hard at work on the second issue, and one thing I'm trying to figure out it what to do for the Boy Comics #121 variant.
I've got two basic options - I could do an all-new original design, or I could do another homage cover.
I think a lot of people really liked the homage to Captain America Comics #3, so I am leaning towards doing another homage. but then the question is, what cover should I homage?
Right now the two covers I am considering for an homage are very different: Adventure Comics #74, by Simon and Kirby featuring the "new" Sandman. Or Eerie #1, widely considered the first horror comic.
Here's a look at these (not my copies!)

Or I could do something else instead! This is a ghost story, but it also has a dream aspect to it as well, which is how I ended up with these two possibilities.
So what do you guys think? What would like to see for the cover of Boy Comics #121? One of these? Something totally different? A brand new design instead of an homage? Let me know what you think!

    comic books
Well, we're almost halfway through the Kickstarter campaign for my new comic Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam, so I thought I'd provide an update. Right now we're at 87% funded, so it's going pretty well. The campaign is in the dead zone at the moment, so I'm grinding out cross promotion posts and stuff like that to try and get some more eyeballs on things. I also recently added 11x17 prints to the add-ons, and that helped, as several people adjusted their pledges upwards. It was a request from a backer, so it's nice to give people what they want!

As always, thanks for all the support!
I've also only got a few more of this variant cover left, so people seem to be liking it a lot!

Here's a master list of all the episodes of the Classic Comics Forum Podcast so far!
As new episodes are released, i will update this list as well as post new entries for new episodes.
Most episodes I am joined by guests, so before we start the discussion about the topic at hand, there's a short interview where we discuss their reading and collecting history so you have an idea what their frame of reference is going into the discussion.
    Enjoy!

The comic may be done, but that doesn't mean the work is finished! I'm currently doing a bunch of production stuff — formatting, editing, all that fun nonsense. My hope is that by the end of next week it will be ready for the printer. I'm also toiling away at the Kickstarter campaign. I have a couple really cool rewards to share with you down the road, but for now, here's a look a the custom Funko Pops that I hand painted; a very limited number of these will be offered when The Crimebusters goes live on Kickstarter on June 11!

Hello, friends! I've made a couple new videos I thought you might enjoy.

First, here's a look at the revolutionary storyline science fiction grandmaster Samuel R. Delany had planned for Wonder Woman, and how it got abruptly cancelled by DC after just one issue thanks to some very unexpected and highly ironic political interference:

And here's a look at some of the back issues I've been buying as retail therapy during the quarantine. This is part one of what looks like could be an infinite part series, as I've got a ton of other books still en route from ebay and the boards here:

This year has been a series of kicks to the junk, but luckily, it's nearly over!
And I do have a couple cool announcements. Tomorrow, I'll be appearing on a Disney YouTube livestream to discuss my comic and how the latest issue was influenced by Disney theme parks! And this weekend, I'll be appearing at the NorthEast Comic Con in Boxboro, MA, so if you're at the show, stop by and say hi!
I made a little video about these announcements:

Howdy! I'm excited to share with you the link for the Kickstarter campaign for The Crimebusters #2, which will be live on January 28. And don't worry, if you missed #1, that's available as well.
Kickstarter has a groovy new feature called the "Notify me on launch" button. Click on that, and as soon as the project is live, you'll automatically receive an email notification the moment the project is live.
I'm super excited to share this issue with everyone. Thanks for all the support over these trying months, it means a lot to me.

Hello there, friends! I am currently toiling away on The Crimebusters #3 and wanted to show you the regular cover. I have some cleanup work to do on the logo, but otherwise, this is it!

I also wanted to announce that I will be "appearing" at this weekends virtual comic con, Stay At Home Con. I have a virtual booth set up at the show, which is mainly just links to my website. But on Sunday morning at 10:30 ET, I'll be doing a livestream event to chat with "convention goers" so feel free to stop in. Here's the link:
