    Another Top 10
Everyone is doing CGC Top 10's, tons of my comics are out for slabbing, so I will do my RAW Top 10 for my collection (which is by no means impressive). This will go Silver to Modern, mostly DC and Marvel.
Brief Background: Collected a long time ago, and my dad did more, got back into it in the early 90's, left comics again, got back in around 2007ish. When I was younger I liked stories more, and as I got older I like art (and covers more). Now for recent moderns I'm pretty into sketch cover comics.
*Note - Value and/or collectability play very little into these rankings.
Thanks for checking out my list.
First up: Honorable Mention - Django Unchained #1 2nd print (love Quentin, love Jim Lee sketch covers), Darkhawk #6 (man did I love DH back then), Star Wars 1 (This probably would have been ranked higher if I had it in higher grade)

    Finally loaded my Darkhawks
    So I finally did it.

I'm fully in the midst of liquidating my collection, EXCEPT I want a full run of CGC 9.8 Darkhawks, which was my absolute favorite new series when I was younger. I just loaded 16 comics in the registry, all blue 9.8's.
He was like Spider-man, but with cooler powers, a bigger family, and the themes were a lot darker, lots and lots of death. And in true 90's style, they had TONS of Spider-man and Venom appearances. Later on he hung out with the New Warriors, which I might go after later.
Some of his enemies were AWFUL, and some of his origin was pretty odd, but I think turned out pretty cool eventually. Either way, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life hunting down 9.8's (especially the rarer later issues).
I won't bore you with the details of how I got these Darkhawks, but I will bore you with the tails of any future acquisitions.
    So have a Happy 4th!
    Thanks for coming by.
Feel free to check out my registry, I'm not sure how to link it, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. I'm #1, BY FAR. Like by far.

    OAK!
As many of you know, and I've loudly proclaimed, I'm currently the leader by a WIDE margin the Darkhawk registry. I'm mostly proud to present Issue 49 CGC SS. This will probably be the ONLY copy from my original collection (which went up to about issue 26) which is included in the registry.

I bought this one NEW off the shelf after I had been out of comics for a few years, when I randomly wandered into a store while waiting to eat at a nearby restaurant. The art was very different, and seemed very out of proportion and somewhat Liefeldian, especially with the odd musculature and strange-feet. The interior art of Tod Smith is much better than the cover art, which I actually think is pretty consistent throughout the series...

I took better care of this one, and am glad the grade is fairly high (late issues are impossible to find NM or higher), but a little sad it didn't press higher.

    The hunt continues...

I'm sure no one else cares, but I'll check in on myself at the end of 2015.
Others are doing it. Now I am.
    In no particular order.
    1. Stop wasting so much time at work doing comic stuff - forums, shopping, reading articles.
    2. Get my wife to go to a comic con. Double edged sword - if she likes it, could cost me a lot more money in the short and long run, and if she hates it....well no one will have fun.
    3. Sell the vast majority of my collection, 90%+++. Think I'm gonna have a huge February sale, getting rid of damn near EVERYTHING, including all the hot keys and rares and 1st apps. There's stuff the money could be better used for family and...
    4. Darkhawk CGC 9.8 slabs. I'm the leader by FAR on the registry, and I think I've got about a third of the books. I'm gonna try to get 10ish more this year.
    5. Also trying to make a Darkhawk CGC SS (non-Stan Lee) set, non-9.8 I've got 3 so far, try to pick up a few more this year. Mike Manley did some CGC SS last year, hopefully I'll get a crack at him this year.
    6. I'd love to get another CGC SS from a legend this year. I've got Stan Lee, Wrightson, Cardy, Steranko, Trimpe, Sinnott, Romita. This year I think maybe Joe Simon and/or Russ Heath, maybe Allen Bellman?
    7. Read some old old comics. Like stuff from the 1950's, war or super hero. Haven't read ANY 50's before, but I focused on the 60's last year, and it was pretty fun. (this will probably occur in reprints or collections)
    8. Get a fully charged 4 star character on Marvel Puzzle Quest (mobile game). I'm about halfway on Invisible Woman and X Force Wolverine, but without putting money into the game, its pretty slow going.
    9. Watch Thor: Dark World and Man of Steel. They've been on my DVR for half of 2014. Haven't watched either yet.
    10. Find another Chinese Marvel or DC comic. (non-counterfeit/pirated). I know of 2 that exist, I have one.

    Happy New Year!

A chronicle of the steps involved with having a huge sale on the CGC Boards
I'm having a huge alphabetized copper/modern sale starting on the boards starting 9/21/15, and running about a week.
Available will be the vast majority of my collection, about 2.5 long boxes and 30-50 slabs, somewhere between 600-800 comics I think?
This journal will be me cataloguing my steps and thoughts along the way.
Before I get to the actual journaling, here is a list of topics I think I'll address, although there may be more and some of the topics might end up being discussed in parts, and they'll be somewhat chronological.
    1. Selecting a date(s) for the sale.
    2. Organizing your comics.
    3. Taking pictures of or scanning comics. Then uploading them.
    4. Grading comics.
    5. Pricing comics.
    6. The actual running of the sale.
    7. Organizing the sold comics.
    8. Marketing (interspersed throughout)
