  1. Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  Unfortunately, pressing would not help an ink stain.  We do a dry cleaning along with the pressing process which can remove surface dirt and things such as pencil marks, but ink stains generally cannot be removed. I'm sorry about that!

    Thanks,

  2. Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  We're sorry to hear that your book arrived with some damage to the holder.  Please email our customer service department and they can send you the instructions and a shipping label to send that back and we can get that fixed for you at no charge.  You can email them at submissions@cgccomics.com

    Thanks!

  3. Hi, it looks like it is just noted on the label that the card was included with the book but it was not encapsulated with it.  They advised that we would not encapsulate anything that is not attached to the book so we would not be able to do that, in this case.

    Thanks,

  4. Hi, thanks for your message.  I checked with our graders on this and they advised that we are now breaking these out so they can be recognized separately on the registry.  If you are sending in a submission like you describe, you just need to attach a note on your submission asking for those to be broken out separately and our graders will take care of that.

    Thanks!

  5. Good morning,

Since we would not encapsulate anything that is not attached to the book we would not be able to encapsulate those with the book.  If you still wish to get the book graded then I would remove that before you send it to us to prevent anything from getting lost in the process.

    Thanks,

  6. Hi, thanks for your message.  We charge you for return shipping back to you.  We cannot advise you on if you would be charged any additional taxes or fees when it goes through customs, however.  That would depend on the customs regulations of your country which can vary by country.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.  Thanks!

  7. Hello, thanks for your message.  Based on what you are describing, it sounds like it was a mistake.  If you can send an email over to our customer service department with a picture of the book and label they can send you instructions on how to send that back to us for correction, along with a shipping label to use to send it back.  You can email us at submissions@cgccomics.com

    Thanks!

  8. Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  We wouldn't encapsulate anything that was not attached to the book so I don't believe we would have ever encapsulated a book that had the gift card just free floating inside the holder.  Do you happen to have a picture of one you have seen graded that you could send over to us for review?

    Thanks,

  9. Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  Unfortunately we cannot make a speculation about a grade without first seeing the book.  The final grade is going to depend on the book as a whole and what, if any other defects our graders find.

    Thanks,

  10. Good morning,

Thanks for your message. First appearance label notations are made at the discretion of the CGC Grading Team. You can find this information by visiting the CGC Census which will include the Key Comments, Art Comments, and First Appearance notations.

If you would like to request a first appearance update or inclusion to the current label, please include a note along with the book in your submission (post-it on comic bag).

    Thanks!

  11. Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  We have changed certain things regarding our holders and labels over the years.  At one point there was an external sticker that went on the top of the holder which had the book name, etc.  It sounds like the one you purchased must have either been removed or come off at some point.  It shouldn't effect anything with the grading, however, you could always send the book in for a reholder and we can put it in a new holder.

    Thanks!

  12. Hello, as long as your membership is active when we receive your order then it will be processed and completed.  It doesn't matter if your membership expires while the items are in process.  However, if your membership were to be expired when we received your order then you would have to renew your membership before we would start the process.

    Thanks!

  13. Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  Generally, due to the high volume of mail we receive each day, it can take a few days from the time it shows delivered before you will see it in the system.  You will receive an email once it has been entered into our system.  I would give it at least 2-3 days right now.

    Thanks!

  14. Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  If you can provide your customer number or your submission number, we can double check and make sure nothing else is due.  Generally, your books wouldn't be shipped out if there is a balance so it sounds like it is probably all taken care of, but we an double check with your customer number.  If you don't want to leave that information here, you can also email customer service at submissions@cgccomics.com and they can check that for you as well.

    Thanks!

  15. Good morning, thanks for your post!  Welcome to CGC!  If you haven't already checked out this page on our website, it will help you with getting started: https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/how-to-submit/  Once you are ready to send in your submissions you will need to complete an online submission form which you can access once you have signed up for membership.  You can find our services and fees page here: https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/services-fees/cgc/

There is no minimum or maximum number of books you have to send in for grading unless you are submitting for a service such as QuickPress or Pre-screen.  These services do have a minimum number of books you must submit.  If you can advise which services you are interested in, I can provide you with more information.

We can't really advise you on which ones to send as it would all depend on what you ultimately want to do with your books.  If you are just planning on selling them then you might wan to consider what you could get for the book versus what it would cost to have them graded.

We do also offer a pressing service, if you have books you might want to get graded but have some minimal damage.  Pressing can help remove some defects and could possibly result in a higher grade.  You can find out more about pressing here: https://www.cgccomics.com/ccs-pressing/

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!

  17. Hello, I have heard back from our pedigree expert and after his review, he does fee that it is a mistake and the pedigree should not be listed on this label.  We are currently taking steps to get this corrected.  Thanks for bringing the issue to our attention!
