Decided to just do this, though I was hoping to avoid it.

My son is 4, and on the last visit to my parents' house, my mom dragged out the box with all my old Star Wars toys for him. If I'd known my kid would love them so much, maybe I wouldn't have broken as many when I was young

JTC cover for Obi-Wan and Anakin #1

I'm collecting both the Star Wars and Marvel heroes action figure variants. Granted, the StarWars are more important to me but I just looked on ebay and I could've saved money buying my Secret wars off the bay....and I preordered. The difference in prices is pretty crazy imo.

Swung by an LCS yesterday that I had never been to before, and they had short boxes of several of the Secret Wars covers, all for cover or less.

So I just thought…it would be great of DC could get JTC to do some AFC for their comics. If they could do a whole group of Super Powers covers, I'd easily get those all slabbed.

Any predictions? Will this be hotter than the previous Fett cover? Or will the colored version be the real eye catcher in the long run?

 

I like the limited amount going on here, but I have to admit that these covers pop 10000000000X more with the color.

I'll probably grab one, but I'm considering my set to be just the color versions. As someone noted about the Luke b/w cover, the nostalgia effect isn't the same in black and white.

That has nothing to do with the book. I asked G. Willow Wilson to write her favorite quote on the cover along with her signature. In my mind I was asking her to write her favorite quote/ dialogue from the book but she end up writing her personal favorite quote. It was kinda of a cool fail if you ask me.

Agreed. I'm trying to stick to the ones that I actually feel some sort of nostalgia for. The Star Wars and Secret Wars covers fit the bill so far for me.

14 Combo Packs of Batman 40 missing from LCS order. Not on the invoice so that means it would be next week, or nothing.

My shop orders 1 (for me) and received one.

Received mine today. Two copies, both look sharp. Packaging was media mail, two books between cardboard (not even taped together) folded in a cardboard mailer.

yeah, seems like they're shipping the larger orders first then they're get to the bottom feeders who ordered under 5.

Could this be my Fett cover? I paid with Paypal directly and did not set up an account on his page. Has anyone else seen this?

Got the same message this morning, and I didn't set up the account either.

I got notification today and it started with 28 and it's not by USPS. Shipped via UPS.

Did you create an account on his site, or just checkout through PayPal?

I bought a few moderns from him, and like my previous transaction with Randall, this one went smoothly. His packaging and grading were both spot on, and I would not hesitate to buy from him again.

This thread has me worried enough that I just emailed to ask about my status. Also ordered on the 8th, so hopefully there's no issue.

I would boycott john Tyler Christopher and his boba fett variant. But it if you want but he is the biggest sleezevall I've ever met. You presell books online at $20/ book than sell them for $60 at at con a week or two later. He couldn't heve been a bigger douchbag. I know there's a lot of boba fett and star wars fan but hell never get $0.01 from me.

Is he sleazy for selling them for $60 or for some unrelated reason?

Who are these people that list them at $149 when there are still $34 options out there on eBay?
