  1. Ya know what's crazy is this damn #33 second print is so hard to find in mint condition. I've got 3 and all are banged up. I order a #2 second print and it's a solid 9.8 candidate or higher. I don't get it. (shrug) Don't even get me started on the #35 error variant. Indiana Jones couldn't find that book. :ohnoez:

DITTO, I finally have a 9.8 Candidate of #33 2nd print, at the very least a 9.6. That took forever to find. I am not big on the error variants. I should be submitting it in a couple of weeks with some other books.

  2. Enough of this key talk. What are your anti-keys?

I'll go with 97+ as they have had or will have huge print runs and appear to have nothing to do with the stuff happening in the issue.

    But for the earlier stuff:

    39 boring cover

    40 "

    66 "

    87

    89

I don't think Moore did a boring cover :( Maybe 14? and even that's not that bad.

Like this subject. I like 39 though because of baby being born which is somewhat significant to that arc.

    I have several

    30, 32, 34, 35, 36, 38, 40, 41

  3. So I have a particular question for some of you WD fanatics. If you could add any issues to your collection what would it be? What key issues would you have to have if you were adding WD books to collection for good. Don't say "All of them". Just what you would keep as "key" books in the series and holding their value for the long haul. :)

SOT is a member here Spidey-On-Tilt. In this thread last week he was going on and on about how WD #2 is his favourite book in the series and that he is more impressed seeing those then he does issue #1. It got a little heated to say the least.

    Glad that conversation stopped :roflmao:

  4. Personally for Me this is why:

    10 1st Hershel & Maggie among others

7 1st Tyrese and Lori reveals pregnant, and first Adlard Art (Which some aren't to happy about)

Let's not forget 91 which features his first appearance (cameo).

CGC notates 92 as his first full appearance...

Dude I'm right there with you, when #91 came out, I was like "gotta stock up on this issue, this guy will be key", then I soon starting realizing that everyone on ebay and CGC were considering #92 his first appearance...I was like "huh? I saw him in #91...

Just curious, but what makes #7 and #10 key?

  5. Question:

I just commissioned several artists to do some walking dead art for me on blank back #85 Infinity Variant comics. They are all working on the walking dead card series coming out next month. What is everyone's opinion:

Should I have them do their own originals or have them do homage covers I like? (i.e. Issue #1 and #19)

  6. I still think 3, 7, and 10 are all undervalued and should be keys. Here is MY list. Than I also think there is a 2nd tier and variant list after this as I personally also feel several of those are really important as well.

  7. Don't get me wrong WD #1 is great book and will always have value, but 1500-2k highly unlikely.

    You underestimate the genre.

I am a huge Zombie fan. Hell I am doing a zombie run in San Diego in October. Walking Dead is the only current comic book I read, but still i can't look anyone in the face and think anyway other that the obvious future on the values of these books.

By this time next year the 9.8 and 9.6 CGC census on WD #1 will probably be up by at least 25-35%.

Lets face it nothing about the Walking Dead comic book nothing has been all that groundbreaking since the prison governor arc almost 50 issues ago. (shrug) Once the show does that arc the show could suffer bad ratings, so if they are smart they will use season 3 & 4 for the prison and then the governor war.

The show has what about 5-6 seasons before they will pull the plug on it just using the usual logic on a TV show.. Lost only made it 6 seasons.

Can you pick my lotto numbers for me too???

We will just have to wait and see, all we can do. Speculation is speculation.

I don't want to tell you what I paid for my 9.8 but lets just say, if there were more fans like me.....two thousand is a low end in coming years.

    +1 AGAIN

  8.

There is more than enough supply for this book for years to come.

WHAT? REALLY I would take that to the bank :slapfight:

As said before Walking dead has its own "universe" and will be around for a while. If you all don't like walking dead why do you continue to come here and post! Does not make sense to me. I am a fan and collector and I look at it from every perspective.

  9. #1 is historically significant and the most important issue by a longshot...and #2 is just #2. Dollar for dollar, I will take #1 all day, every day.

No one is saying WD #2 is more important that #1, but tougher to find....hell yea.

I am more impressed seeing a WD #2 in CGC 9.8 than #1.

#1 isn't that tough to find if you need a HG copy. (shrug)

There are 500 fewer copies of #2. That's 7% less than #1...hardly a significant difference. There are a lot more CGC copies of #1 because it's a much more desirable issue. Scarcity alone does not make a book valuable or desirable. Last time i checked, there isn't a "Show Us Your WD #2" thread.

    lol:roflmao:

  10. def am seeing an easing on the prices of WD #19 and #27's both raw and CGCed.

I just wonder when the #1 will break. Last sale of the 9.8 was $1500.00.

Can this book keep going up? hm

WD #2 still have less 9.8's than 9.6.

    WD #2. :takeit:

    WD#1. zzz

There are now 950 copies of Walking Dead #1 that have been CGC graded. Over 600 in 9.6 or better.

A whopping in 10 CGC 9.9.......which take that for what it is there.

I really can't see this book peaking any higher going forward as there are just too many copies out there. Soon this sheep like hysteria will come to an end.

Everything with you is about dollars and cents :baiting:

We'll see in the near future, but no matter what there is only 7,000 copies to go around, if you think about it, that is just nuts to try and comprehend.

    Jim

That's true.. and I have to say, im sure theres A LOT more people trying to get a copy in their collection than there are out there.

I'm missing issues 1 - 4, but feel better buying OA than these issues atm because they are so overvalued in my opinion. Just waiting for the madness to hush down and I can pick one up for cheaper than they are now. I KNOW I'll need to cough up a lot, but I'm not going to spend $500 + for a raw copy of #1- no way.

I really don't know if it is ever going to drop to those levels again. It's funny a well known WD collector and I were joking today, the only way a WD #1 goes for less than $600 today, is if it is coverless :)

    Jim

    AGREED!

  11. Anyone else notice the spawn 222 cover swipe? Gonna have to pick that up it that's truly the cover!

Heck yea it's real and it looks sick! It really reminds me of the superhero variant cover for #50 which I'm in love with, it has that same style and it's beautiful.

It's already available for pre-order from Midtown.

Edit: Rehosted as I was hotlinking from a different site.

Gotta find me that OA :)

  12.

There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for," the posting reads. "Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That's right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you'll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you'll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency."

The post, written by Assistant Surgeon General Ali Khan, instructs readers how to prepare for "flesh-eating zombies"
