  1. Yes, this is the same person. 'laid back forum, 20-30 days is normal' Having just read the rules I did send them a new PM with a new title alerting them to this discussion. I have had many other deals go smoothly, I'm not soured on anyone else here. Thanks
  2. I sent them a PM titled REFUND two days ago. they are well aware of this thread. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come in for some damage control spin. I'm over this deal and just want my money back. end of
  3. slow roll updated. short synopsis of facts. Contacted seller after finding his sales thread on May 9, 2012. This was the first transaction I initiated on these boards after finding this via google search for these particular books (WD Argentina). We exchanged a few emails until we hammered out a deal. Sent e-check May 14, 2012 E-check cleared May 17, 2012. I also added another book on this date, e-check cleared two days later. I AM NOW IN FOR $1232.00 hadn't heard from seller so I emailed an inquiry on May 19, 2012, on the 20th (Sunday) seller emailed back stating they would ship the books "Thursday or Friday" and they would let me know when they shipped. After not hearing from seller regarding shipment that week I emailed again on the 24th. Didn't hear back from him. Emailed again on the 29th a few hours before posting in this thread, no reply. Shortly after I posted in this thread I he emailed me apologizing and adding some other comments. He then shipped the next day via media mail. (I wrote this on Monday 06-04-12 with the intention of posting it at day's end if I didn't hear from the seller but gave them a little more time) Early this morning the perp sends me a partial refund ($251.00) for some books with the following explanation "I just noticed I forgot to put 4 books into your package, so I just sent you a refund for the 4 books and I wanted to let you know right away so there's no surprises when you receive your package." Included in those four books they 'forgot' until five days after shipment were the keys to the whole deal in that they were three issue #1s. I got a discount on the 1s and a couple of other key issues if I bought a bunch of commons for full pop. I wrote back asking him when he was shipping the other books and then after a coffee wrote again telling him if I don't get the complete order I want to return the entire thing for a full and complete refund. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I obviously have some reservations in doing so as I'm still out the bulk of the money. I don't think I'm out of line here but I can't think of any way to protect myself. In all honesty at this point I don't want the books at all now and would rather have my money back so I can just hunt the books down elsewhere.. I wrote again Monday night letting them know I just want a complete refund as I'm done screwing around with this. I still haven't heard back from them. Meanwhile media mail is taking it's time with the box making it about 150 miles south in five days time. Another 250 miles to go so I might have the box by labor day. Yesterday I PMd them as well with the same request and never heard back to this point via email or PM. At the end of day yesterday I got the media mail package, it sits here in my office untouched as I want nothing to do with it. Since the seller hasn't come forward and they are well aware of my comments in this thread I'm outing them. The seller was WDMARVELCOMICS. Seems they have had issues before http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5268751#Post5268751 I just want my money back at this point. I'm still in for $981.00 and I'm pretty angered by this entire situation. Again, I just want my money back so we can both move on.
  4. Planned as an ongoing series.

  6. I dunno but this is one dope book. Wrightson's illos pleases my glassy balls.
  7. Updatery. Within an hour or so of my posting in this thread the seller emailed me promising to send the books the next day and followed through with a USPS dc number for media mail today. They went on to say "The longer you're on the CGC Message Boards you'll see it's more of laid back selling forum and the normal time frame for a transaction is about 20 to 30 days unless other arrangements are made". This hasn't been the case with other transactions I've had here and there have been many. Having said that they seem like nice enough people and I'm hopeful this will end well. Thanks for all the help, comments, and conversation. Even to the jack hole that chose to laugh that I sent PayPal personal payment, you are correct as it was a bad move on my part and I'll never do that again. I have personally been in the mail order business for over 15 years and would never ask anyone to do that or add money to cover the fees as the processing fees, be it PayPal or otherwise are just part of the cost of doing business. /rant Again thanks for the comments and thanks for allowing me to be a part of this community.
  8. that is correct, I'll refrain from naming names for now although it's tempting.
  9. I'm fairly new here so forgive me if I haven't read or found the rules for posting in this thread. I purchased some books from a guy whom I will not name at this time. He lives one state over from me and about three weeks ago, since he hadn't shipped yet I paypaled him for another book a week later (oof). I haven't heard from him in over a week now despite emailing him and PMing him a few times. I found these forums (which I am enjoying) while doing a google search for the books this guy had ( I didn't post in his thread) so this is particularly disturbing and ironic. The guy also insisted on paypal personal payment, which I will never do again and I'm pretty sure is against their policy for the selling of goods. This has apparently left my hands tied in terms of filing a claim etc. so I'm starting to get pretty frustrated here. I'm in for over $1200 now. What is a reasonable length of time to wait? Is selling books and asking for personal payment encouraged or discouraged within these forums? I also see that they are still active on these forums but can't find the time to respond to me. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, KONG
  10. WOW... any math or any idea of the breakdown between the individual regular covers or did most people just get the same #s of each?
