  1. Sorry, that last post got cut off. but essentially, i was comparing Platinum Spider-Man# 1 and its 10,000 print run classified as "rare" against # of spidey collectors/fans.

and vice versa for Albedo# 2...claiming that its "proported" 2,000 print run, is most likely LESS "rare" given the fan base.

    essentially 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

You're talking availability. You're also assuming that every Spider-Man fan wants that Platinum #1. You should be comparing the # of collectors that want Spider-Man # 1 Plat versus the number printed. And the same with Albedo 2.

Albedo 2 comes up for sale in high grade a handful of times per year. There is always a demand for those copies and it always sells for well above guide. I'm not positive the same can be said about Spider-Man 1 Plat.

Is it possible that the demand will eventually be met by the supply? Sure. That can be said of any book. Albedo 2 has been a strong book for at least a year and a half. I don't see it slowing down any time soon...it comes up just too infrequently and there are always a ton of collectors willing to pay top dollar.

  2. Tell ya what, if I find any "Albedo#2" books in my travels, i'll buy em' and sell them on this board for a penny each 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

    I promise...cause' that's truly what they're worth 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

that is, until this minimal demand, reaches the thousands of supply hi.gif

Exactly 2,000 copies were printed. How many do you think survived in great shape? From 1984 and from a no-name publisher? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

  3. Holy moly...over $5,700 for the 9.4 FC 367!

On a sad note, I woke up at 5:30 AM to try and win that Donald Duck 60 (9.2) to lose it by $5.00 frown.gif My computer wasn't fast enough for me to outsnipe the sniper.

Even if you had, it might not have beaten his max bid. gossip.gif

    Yeah, I know. frown.gif

I took a stab at that 8.0 223, too. I didn't want to go too high on it as I didn't like the writing on the front and back covers.

  4. That baby is going to go very, very high...it's a 9.4 AND it's an execsec book!

Unfortunately, I think you're absolutely right. I think the chances of this book ending up in the US are very slim.

Are you predicting a Hong Kong home for this book? wink.gif

Just as a note of reference, we had a 7.5 sell for nearly double that 8.0 right on these boards and a 5.5 (PGX) sold for more than that 7.5 on ebay...but thanks for the misleading GPAnalysis info. 27_laughing.gif
