I have the 17. The 16, as you may know, has a coupon out of the back cover. Jon Wow. Both the Larson and the Reilly copies have coupons cut out of the back covers. I guess "making your own records at home" was a pretty popular past-time back in the late '30s.

Since all the books came from the same drugstore, and were ALL stamped, ( not just the GR books.but every book that the store sold). Is the only way then to verify a real GR book is to have the books bill of sale history? , or have a person attest to the books purchase/ origin? And compare it to the pdf list, see if it matches up with what was known to be an original GR book? I am sure there are not that many HG comics from that store still floating around.. but you would think there would be a few. And would they not have the same tuesday RED date stamp placement also? Don't go there, Kenny. Just don't....

Eh. On the flip side, it is a Larson so I'm sure the book is spine stress and cover crease free and has some brilliant eye appeal (aside from the foxing, which, like dust shadows, CGC tends to ignore when light). So maybe -- just maybe -- the 9.0 grade isn't that far off. But, man, those rusted staples scare the [#@$%!!!] out of me. I can't imagine that book being opened more than a few times before the cover comes completely detached.

You probably got a bargain on it because of the highly rusted staples! How did CGC even grade that thing without the whole cover popping off is beyond me.... Alan
