  1. We need only one more category . . . Done!
  2. Ok, I can accept that. But I have to add certainly you have to concede that in 1975-1978 Overstreet was THE generally accepted published authority.
  3. It has never been listed in Overstreet as more valuable.
  4. Snarky comments when confronted with facts? Of course I don't, I only collect minty copies of the covers I like. I'm not your librarian.
  5. Actually, only you and RMA are wrong on that point. Both OSG nos. 8 and 10 list IH #181 as the first appearance of Wolverine.
  6. I think that most consecutive wins over the season (including playoffs) may also be a good category, thoughts?
  7. Here are the 8 paid players (highlighted): 1. MonstersoftheMidway 2. Marshall Lucky 3. TheBook 4. Ghostzapper 5. Kneel before Zod 6. peaky blinder 7. Team Sharkey 8. Ozamataz Buckshank 9. Yancy St Slabbers 10. Hollywood Cowboys 11. Team Zuckuss2003 12. smoke'emifyougot'em Please let me know if you think you paid and I somehow missed it. I am going to give the unpaid players (all veterans of this league) one more chance to join the Paid ranks before Thursday night's game!
  8. Once again, Broke as a Joke takes leaps and bounds with the truth.
  9. Can someone please prove this one way or the other? I have heard both versions for years and never seen anyone actually show me that 180 was ever more valuable than 181. Philip is right. It's not true at all. I just pulled my box of minty OS Guides. OSG #6 doesn't even break them out, and lists 160-200 at the same price - $.75 in NM. OSG #8 lists 181 higher than 180, and every subsequent guide does also. Don't ask me for scans - It's not worth my time or the damage to the books.
  10. Uh, how would you know? It appears that you think 2012 was the best ever year on these boards!
  11. Don't get me wrong . . . I wouldn't mind having it, but I'd never pay any real money for it. Also, I would never buy an omnibus of anything. They are not comics. I love reprints, but only if they're newsprint.
  12. Patience - it's a long season. Yes, we are locked in at 8 paid players as noted above.
  13. Well, there hasn't been one on feebay for 90 days and there aren't any in the current listings. BTW, it looks like Chuckee has started breaking them out too!
  14. It looks like a printing ink error, but certainly not an uncommon one, or an intentional one. I would guess that the cover only received the cyan and black inks and missed out on the magenta and yellow. I am surprised that the back cover for this book doesn't exhibit the same color scheme (but someone with more printing knowledge than me will chime in with an explanation.) UVL fading could also be a possibility, as the the magenta and yellow fade first I believe.
  15. CGC never makes grading errors. Its grade is whatever the big blue label says it is. Of course, if you were to crack it out and re-submit it, it may come back as a 9.4, or maybe even a 9.8, or maybe even a 9.2. It just depends which way the wind is blowing. If I however, listed that book raw on feebay as a 9.6, my fellow CGC brethren would be tearing me a new one.
  16. Nobody's crying Jay, only those that are buying over-priced modern variants . . . by the Italian "artist of the week."
  17. Please do! Those look correct to me thus far. Note: Baltimore posted a -1 Thursday night after it's opening game boondoggle.
  18. I like it! Add an appropriate superhero name for the award and we will make it #6.
  19. That's a generous 9.0 (no offense), and I'd be happy to have it. I've only had one opportunity to buy a raw copy of this book and I couldn't (didn't) pull the trigger. It was at a garage sale in SF a while back, and the guy wanted $600 (a tad nicer than yours) but I just couldn't get myself to drop $600 at a garage sale.
  20. Y'know in retrospect, I wish I had kept my 3rd printing copy, because it's every bit as good . . . oh, well.
  21. Uh, I must've missed that check . . . Oh, and btw, he's referring to the bank bailout, and AIG, of course.
