  1. Oh yeah, almost two months old invalidates the sales - I forgot. (says another one of the "I have to have it now" crowd. ) Anything else?
  2. $100 Next up . . . our own J Gallo 9.6 (I guess you see only what you want to see.)
  3. Well, there are over a thousand different "whites" . . .
  4. Methinks your analytical skills are also lacking . . .
  5. Yep, absolutely no way (which is why I sold my copy raw for $33)
  6. Just checked the ebay listings and sales results.........looks like they are going for nowhere near those prices in that condition. Is it even worth the cost of slabbing and all of the other ancillary charges that come with slabbing a book like this just to hopefully make a few dollars if you are lucky. Sure seems to be a lot of time and effort involved unless you are planning to make it by charging an exorbitant shipping and handling fee. Not to mention the added 'burden' placed on CGC turnaround times. Which,of course, is another reason I wouldn't recommend slabbing any book which will net less than $150-200.
  7. Are you sure you know how to search . . . X-Men 4 CGC
  8. Of course, hidden in that post is one of my own . . . X-Men 4 signed by Jim Lee How much does Jim Lee charge for a signature? Are you sure that's actually Jim Lee's, his sig. doesn't look anything like that now. You're hilarious.
  9. Somewhere between charging too little and charging too much.
  10. Of course, hidden in that post is one of my own . . . X-Men 4 signed by Jim Lee
  11. You just pick a price out of the air. No, low-priced auctions blow. Yes, check out other sales - Why shouldn't you get what others have got? Yes, if you're confident in the grade, and have a good selling reputation, subtract cost of grading and shipping and a slight premium for the value of slabbed copies.
  12. Sam has stated in his blog that he drew the Maxx first in the Darker Image pages. Searches can be dangerous
  13. I'm sure you can find something else to spend $3-400 on than an itchy & scratchy 1 9.9 Doesn't that go for pretty much any expensive comic purchase? Buy what you want. This is true. Personally, I'd go the 9.8 route on it and save myself 300+/- bucks. But, based on the last recorded sale (3-4 years ago), $300-350 for the 9.9 doesn't seem like a totally off the wall number. I agree. Just go with a 9.8. I doubt you can tell the difference between a solid 9.8 and a 9.9. I thought this was a forum for junkies who prize rare graded books. Why are y'all tryin' to get this guy to settle? I say spend the extra 300 and buy the more rare book otherwise what's the point of collecting anything that's encapsulated? I see, it's your book . . . My book now (; Congrats to both of you!

  15. the $1.25 one is the "limited edition" (120,000 copies) second print The devil's in the details . . . in't it
  16. I thought selling Moderns was as well? My Spidey senses are warning me of a potential DANCE OFF soon! Come on, we're on a comic book forum!
  17. I thought selling Moderns was as well? I hate being a modern collecting low life. Not to fret we were called the same or worse in the late 80's early 90's. They run out of words eventually. Kids these days . . .
  18. Sorry to hear that . . . Perhaps, but was it really NM? Was it sent in an E.Gerber Mylite2 with a buffered fullback? Was it impeccably packed and shipped immediately? Believe it or not, It's the "wow" things that make a difference. I know you sell high grade stuff, I'm just saying as usual there isn't a market for the book at the price you received. Of course there is . . . a data point is a data point. What's data points got to do with what I said? I'm not going down this rabbit hole. A data point does not make an average market price. Average is for gutter dwellers.
