  1. First, I don't buy from anyone who has a "10,000 rating". Second, a seller's rating is not what determines my purchase decision.
  2. There's no money in low-dollar books - those are the ones you have to keep in your "collection" In the "collection" vault.

  4. I disagree completely. If you as a seller can't make 100% feedback then you're not really trying (or you don't care). And which planet are you on David? Maintaining a 100% feedback rating on eBay as a seller can be considered a minor miracle considering how many person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed buyers that are out there. Planet Terra just like you Whatsamatta? got negged recently? I have to say David your quite wrong. There are all kinds of reasons that people neg and spite is one of them, ignorance is another. My wife sells on Ebay (not comics)...she is as diligent and as customer focused as any top seller and even she is put at risk due to buyers who simply dont pay attention or dont care how their carelessness affects the seller. The toughest transactions I have run into is when I sell low-dollar books for some reason. Some of these buyers seem to want their $.99 books in Mint condition (even when you use an accurate number grading system), and Priority shipping at Media Mail rates. I don't know why, but a few have been like this on Ebay. It's taken plenty of work in those situations to maintain a DSR of 5.0, and 100% positive feedback. Don't get me wrong guys, I just think it's pretty easy to maintain 100% - just deliver the goods at a fair price and when they open them up - make sure they go - Wow! On the other hand, as I've said before, you could ship everything for free on eBay and still not get 5.0 for shipping!

  6. My post didn't relate to any of the thousands of posts here that I don't read. My point was that it is not generally difficult to resolve a disagreement between buyer and seller. Maintaining 100% feedback on ebay is a breeze, especially now that it's based on a rolling one-year reboot. Michael, Why do you insist on taking my comments out of context . . . over and over again. You have way too much time on your hands. -d

  9. With all due respect Michael, the selling of items you don't have in hand should be a practice that's frowned upon. It's a slippery slope . . .
  10. Uh, how would he know he's even being discussed?
  11. I would at least out the dude, so those that care can simply ignore him.
  12. Sometimes, simplicity is beautiful. Now you have people asking if they can do this or that. My advice? Just do it.

  15. There are 39 members on the probation list currently assuming I counted correctly. It has been 4+ years since the list was started. There have been thousands upon thousands of transactions in that time. There are 10 members on the Hall of Shame List. They were put there for either large transgressions or multiple transgressions. For something that is not monitored by anyone other than the members here, I would say the odds are much higher than Ebay for a successful transaction. He's referring to the new rules, not the concept.
  16. Yes, a two-fer is a sad day at the office . . .
  17. Now, normally I wouldn't care a whole lot given the low dollar amount and such, but the message above was followed by He's a new user and I was going to discuss with him how things worked here in the forum marketplace, but since he removed himself from the PM thread, I'll bring it up here as a warning to other members (and him, if he's still here, which I kind of doubt). Reneging on a deal is one thing, then snubbing the communication is just rude, IMO. If you fellas feel he's eligible, let me know and I'll provide his name. *EDIT: It just got better. He made a post today in the 'What's new in your collection' thread in the SA forum of some stuff he picked up over the weekend. This was posted 3.5 hours after his PM to me. Maybe he lost his job Monday or this morning, but color me dubious. I believe you have to wait 30 days (which isn't too far away). At that point, you need to make an attempt to contact him, and alert him of this thread. You can also add his name here, after the 30 days. Thirty days from after he tells me outright that he's not going to pay for the books? Or is it thirty days after no contact? Anyhow, I have no problem waiting thirty days, but he has made his indication to me very plainly that he is not paying, then removed himself from the PM discussion and then posted that he bought a bunch of cool stuff at the comic shop over the weekend. It doesn't seem to me that there is much wiggle room there. Just out the doofus and let's move along
