  1. Cute, but certainly not the same - more whiff than sniff.
  2. Perhaps, but many copies don't. Very surprised at the final price. That's a significant bend on the BC, and the corners are all soft. Guess it's time to start leaking out my 40 or so copies
  3. Virtually every modern graded book out there 9.0 or better is worth owning for the private collector. Choose your own poison.
  4. I concede to the extent that all of the HG Newsstands I own are worth twice as much as their equivalent direct editions . . .
  5. I'm "alleging" that comics which come in newsstand and direct edition varieties are found with the lowest percentages as "high grade newsstand". Is there any doubt? There is always doubt; doubt is a significant commodity.
  6. I bring data and anecdotes to the topic, @paqart brings data and anecdotes, and others bring only anecdotes. It's not hard to judge value of the contributions here. None of what I have said is meant to be critical of you personally, so that comment is a tad unwarranted. I enjoy your posts immensely, but as I said, you appear to be drinking the kool-aid. I am a firm believer that the HG newsstands that I have in my collection are worthy. I just can't say that they are as worthy as you are now alleging.
  7. Everything you said was correct except this. This is totally unsupported conjecture on your individual assessment (which is anecdotal at best.)
  8. Was there a better time than the past two years for people sitting on old comic books to go through them and list them for sale? The majority of collectors do not sell their books. They collect to collect. It's in their genes.
  9. Not rare, scarce (particularly in HG) which I can't judge because it a photo of the book inside a plastic bag.
  10. How rare are modern newsstand editions? In High Grade? Who knows? "Rare" is not the word to use. The scarcer ones are the late '80s to early '90s pre-internet tweeners.
  11. How many of those tens of thousands of collectors have raw 9.8 newsstand Amazing Spider-Man #300? It's not thousands. It's tens. I like your conjectures - don't get me wrong, but sometimes you're the Jim Jones of statistics.
  12. People like me who didn't have a "comic book store " in their town or within 10 miles and no car.
  13. These are actually probably more accurate models than what you propose as fact.
