That Adams House of Mystery 178 cover reflects one of the most disturbing stories I read as a kid, "The Game." Great purchase by someone, in my opinion.

Fortunately there wasn't prolonged bidding on the Wally Wood splash page from Piracy 1 and I came away with it. I've been scheming for many years and now I'll finally have a page of his sporting the unique Wood signature. I foresee a few soup and bread meals ahead of me!

The stars aligned & I fortunately won one of the better Cloak & Dagger Leonardi pages I've come across in many years. Hole in the collection plugged! -
Horror Art! -hey it’s Halloween time

Yes sir! I greatly enjoy your recollections of Russ Cochran EC original art auctions; what magical times those must have been! -

Thanks for highlighting this book! I can't see ever again purchasing another EC content book since this book, to my eyes, will not be surpassed. It's a little pricey (I paid $176.59 @ Blackwell's books; free shipping, no tax, and lightning speed delivery to Virginia) but again, it will impressively be the final addition to my EC library.

Haha, the delicious inane banter with the driver at your doorstep until you feverishly rip away the flat package you've been checking the movement of all week!

I was fortunate enough to win the Monster Hunters #1 painting by Don Newton, a blast from my past and also the Hulk/Silver Surfer illustration by Perez and Weiss. The informational caption doesn't mention but the Hulk/Surfer art was used for the 1979 Hulk calendar, one of the first Marvel items I ever had when I was a kid.

So sorry to hear this! She, of course, was a member of the 1950s EC artists that produced such wonderful work. It may be that with her passing, only Angelo Torres remains from that exceptional group of people.

Bought a Vault of Horror #32 from Mike, it arrived very speedily in bombproof packaging! Thanks very much!

I'll take it, Vault of Horror 32, thanks! -Chris in Virginia USA

It goes without saying that this hobby is very immediate in nature because you never want the future you to look back on the past you and say, "C'mon, dude, WTF!!??" At the 2000 Oakland CA Wondercon I vividly remember a display of Miller DD pages from probably 174 to 176 with asking prices of $800.00 to $900.00. I have little regret because I know myself and there was no physical way for me to scratch that money together right on the spot. I was new wife, baby and car at the time.

I was fortunate enough to snag the Marshall Rogers Dr. Strange page. I happen to have 2 other pages from the same issue. -
Question for Heritage and comiclink reps wrt Burkey admission
Chris Cooper replied to Bronty's topic in Original Comic Art
Careful, compadre, that is not the kind of sentiment that our original comic art overlords are conditioning us to have.
