1. I don't really mind the digital recolouring in the Batman Illustrated by Neal Adams hardcovers, but volume 1 provides an easy comparison between the original and new presentations. I think I read that Adams got carried away a bit with his remastering and ran over budget before finishing the volume, so that it stops suddenly part way through the Brave and Bold run; around the Sgt Rock issue, IIRC? That's actually really good to know. Does that mean the Adam's Batman Omnibus is not all digitally recolored? Does anyone here own one? Love to know how much of the volume has been touched up. If it's half recolored, I would consider getting the omnibus. Thanks!
2. Here are some cheaper options, I'm not a fan of the new coloring either, but if you don't mind b&w(I love it) Showcase vol 5 collects a ton of great issues. That Treasury looks amazing, is that the only one of Adams I need to pick up?
3. Thanks for the info. I have one of Adam's recolored volumes and the digital coloring did throw me off. I actually picked it up at one of his signings and he was telling everyone how proud he was of the new coloring. I feel there is too much contrast now and I'm focusing more on the bright colors vs the beautiful art and story. I would've sold my copy had he not sketched in my book. I will try to hunt down those treasuries!
4. speaking of Neal Adams batman, can someone recommend a collection (TPB or HC) that has all these classic stories? (and I don't mean the batman Omnibus that has all the new fancy digital coloring) I want the original color printing! I want to read them all now that I've seen all these amazing covers!
5. Haven't posted here in awhile; some are commissions, some are just for fun!

11. [font:Book Antiqua]Meaning...? He work in the avengers animated serie? the latest Batman animated movie? By the way how many artist do you need to draw a 22 minutes animated show? Did he really work for Marvel and DC, or he do work for company producing animation for this 2 names? As in Dreamworks animation; how to train your dragon, kung fun panda, etc. Feel free to shoot me pm if you have other animation related questions. I hate to derail this thread
12. [font:Book Antiqua]Of course your friend show his art to more people who greatly disagree with Smith... He stay on course, and today he is a successfully artist working with the 2 big names in the business. I can imagine a guy getting tired of people shoving portfolios in their face, but if you're sick of it then tell them you don't have the time. If you look at it and want to give an honest opinion, it would be nice to say "I gotta tell you, you need work. Keep at it. Take a class if you can." That would definitely be the right approach. Both my friend and I are working for the big 2 in animation field now. And we both view other artists portfolios often and we always give constructive criticism due to our nightmarish experience with BWS.
13. I'm a big fan of BWS work but man he was an hole. Met him at a Toronto convention over ten years ago and I was with a buddy who showed him his portfolio. He looked at his watch and said ' I've got a minute', quickly flipped through his portfolio and told him there was nothing special in here and that it would be a good idea for him look into another profession. Both our jaws just dropped.
14. Pen, Marker & Guache. Can't remember the last time I did Hulk, this was a fun commission.
15. Great seller! and stellar packaging! Bought a couple Steranko Caps from David, even got a freebie!
