  1. If not the timeline, which you aren't disputing, how about just the fact that his response is coming from thin air? You are sharing his response to a PM you sent him - where is that PM or what did it say? Once again, you are not sharing the cause of the responses you are offering as your proof. Leaving out the PM that compelled him to respond to you is the same as your failure to disclose why you accepted an offer while making reference to two other books that your non-buyer never asked about. Same problem as before, you can't cherry pick a discussion so others will the conclusion you want them to reach. I don't require a response to any of this but if you're going to go from "I'm not in the business of enforcing sales" to "I'm going to out this guy in an hour"...you should anticipate some scrutiny of your proof. Please just stop. I clearly have nothing to hide here. As stated before, the buyer is clearly and wholly aware of the ongoing discussion. If I was being a total and unreasonable hat here, I would be expect to be called out by the buyer which I would understand. So let me get this straight.... I'm "outing" a buyer whom I have not named to enforce a sale which I have no interest in completing? What is my endgame here? You seem to have some mysterious interest in the situation although it has been made clear that IT IS A DONE DEAL. I don't know where your unchecked aggression is coming from, but I'd be happy to meet and arm wrestle for dominance if that will make you feel better.
  2. And here I was thinking how absurd it would be if something like the timeline was called into question
  3. Are we done here? Notice the distinct lack of "I didn't actually claim it" or something of the like. It all apparently came down to miscommunication, the buyer apologized and that's all she wrote.
  4. It's not trolling for someone to request complete exposition of the subject. You are the one who brought it up for the forum's review and comment. You either edited the PMs or you didn't. If you didn't, prove it. If you did, especially if done to try and spin the exchange, then shame on you. As is often the case, you start to look worse than the semi-anonymous complainee, when you attack the people for providing you what you asked for in the first place. Gotta disagree with ya there. When he asked a legitimate question he received a legitimate response and the follow up seemed to be nothing more than a question to create drama. Where is this edited PM's nonsense coming from anyway? The buyer in question is aware of this discussion and has apologized to me via PM. I'm not holding a grudge, but I would think that if he was in the right and I "edited" PM's, then he would be here stating his case. I come here in good faith while respectfully declining to "out" the buyer until I get all of the facts and suddenly my character is being questioned. Seems legit.
  5. Please return to your home under the bridge bababooey. If you really feel the need to further discuss this, you are more than welcome to contact me via PM. Be forewarned though, any discussion that we may have will be taken completely out of context on my part. - Thanks for your trolling.
  6. Just sayin' ? To recap, after much prodding you supposedly shared the buyer's words in a quote where he asked if you were willing to accept $100 for a book, your response where you agreed to take $100 indicates that he inquired about two other books that you didn't have, obviously you aren't sharing the entire scope of what this potential buyer is saying. Quit editing and/or paraphrasing the discussion if you are going to try and get people's opinions - sure you may just be omitting useless words but if you're asking for people's opinions then post the entire exchange, the context of the entire PM is relevant. Also, if you are planning to share anything further...just post it all (with or without outing the buyer) rather than drag it on for a dozen more posts. (thumbs u Hello, I don't feel that my post deserves a I was merely pointing out the fact that while countless messages concerning the sale went ignored over a 1 month + period, a message with the subject "probation discussions" was answered within a few hours. I have absolutely nothing to hide and if the community deemed it necessary for me to provide screenshots I would have happily done so. I went out of my way to not name the buyer because I wasn't sure if I was in the right and didn't want to wrongly accuse anybody. And your accusation that I am editing or paraphrasing is completely unfounded. So fair of you to imply that I "supposedly" shared the buyers words in a quote while also implying that I am "obviously" not sharing scope and context. It's a done deal on my end and I'm over it, but implying that I FINALLY get an answer to a PM when the words probation discussion are used is irrelevant, is ridiculous. Thanks for your input.
  7. Just a quick update: I sent a PM earlier with the subject "Probation Discussions" and wouldn't ya know I just got a reply. Just sayin guys.... just sayin....
  8. I defer to the wisdom of the board and I can see how this didn't technically constitute a "take it", but all things considered the buyer is guilty of very poor etiquette at a minimum. Would you take $100 for book "X"? Yes, I would take $100 for book "X". Please claim book "X" in the thread. On no, you misunderstood, I was only inquiring as to if you would come down on price at all. My mistake, sorry about that. Problem is solved before it begins.
  9. Just for the record, I've had people unable to pay, ask to pay later, etc and they contacted me and we worked it out. My main gripe here is being ignored. Consider the matter closed on my end though and Thank You everybody for your input. - Joel
  10. Fair enough. The buyer never expressly "took it" and I'll admit that, but I don't feel that I'm being at all unreasonable with my grievance. Ok then, I'll just make a note not to deal with the person in question again. Thanks for your time and input everybody.
  11. "Hello, I can go $100 on the Hulk book. I don't have either of those 2 other books, but I have a couple thousand to sell so let me know if anything else comes to mind. I'll also be adding more books to the thread. Thanks - Joel PS: Please claim the Hulk 377 in the thread." After sending this message, I received one back by him inquiring as to whether I had other certain books. If he hadn't implied a sale, I'd assume that issue would have been taken with me saying "Please claim the Hulk 377 in the thread."
  12. And to be clear, I accepted his offer of $100 with no further haggling. We were never up in the air or a few dollars apart on price. He asked would I accept $100 and I said yes.
  13. This is the actual wording: "Would you be willing to sell it for $100? Im slowly going through your thread so there may be something else I'll like. Maybe we can work a bundle up." I SUPPOSE that it could be argued that this doesn't constitute a "take it", but the context supports the fact that it was sold. If the buyer didn't plan to buy the book and was merely asking if I would accept a lower price, why was I ignored for so long? There was no response like "Oh I didn't wanna actually commit yet" or anything so it's pretty clear to me. But then again feel free to tell me I'm incorrect in my assumption, but to me the ignore, remove is very telling.
  14. I see what you're saying, but on the other hand it has been over a month and several polite messages have been ignored. The consensus seems to be to out the buyer so I'm gonna do just that. They are currently on and I will send one message. If I don't hear back in an hour I'll reveal their name in the interest of accountability. Thanks everybody.
  15. I don't want to bring out any names just yet and as stated, I have no interest in completing the sale. It just really irritates me that I can't depend on a fellow boardie to just be straight with me and this ignoring messages/removing from topic nonsense is completely childish.
  16. Here is the basic outline as to what has happened: 2/23 the buyer contacted me concerning a book in my sales thread. I agreed to sell the book for "X" amount as opposed to listed price and the buyer informed me that he was possibly interested in more so I wasn't in a hurry to invoice for the 1st item. 3/2 I sent an invoice after not hearing that the buyer was interested in anything else and received no response. 3/12 I sent a very friendly payment reminder and received no response. 3/14 I PM'd the buyer to ask whether or not they plan on going through with the transaction and received no response. 3/28 The buyer removed himself from the topic. And here I am. I understand that things happen. Maybe you bought over your head or flat out just changed your mind. I'm not in the business of enforcing sales, but what really gets me here is the lack of communication. The buyer has obviously seen my messages and has actively been posting elsewhere on the forum and behavior like this undermines the credibility of board sales. I am happy to say that everybody else that I have had transactions with acted like complete professionals. At this point, it's not even a big deal if he purchases the book, it's the principle of the matter. And there is my long winded story.
  17. Hello ladies & gents, I have been active on this forum for a few years now and have bought and sold a quite a bit and never had a problem.... until now. I'm having a problem with a buyer and was wondering if this was the appropriate thread to bring it up. Sorry to be so n00bish, but like I said, I've never had a HOS worthy incident before so I'm kinda in the dark about how to proceed. Thanks for any input.
  18. This is my first transaction with Jason and I am nothing but impressed. Great books, great prices, great packaging. Nothing but good things to say. Thanks bro!
  19. I have had several transactions with Dinesh and it's always a very smooth process. What more is there to say?
  20. Canadian artists mentioned and no SYL? Travesty....
  21. Prompt payment and easy to deal with. Recommended.
  22. Anthony was awesome to deal with. I simply could not recommend him any higher as a boardie. Thanks!
  23. Those prices are all over the map! Will this be a dud in 2-3 weeks like so many other hot books? Are Disney Fans/ collectors going to be wiped off the face of the earth in 2-3 weeks? They are one of the most rabid fan bases on the planet. Think. Before you make such a moronic statement. I believe that was a question my good sir, hence the ?
