  1. I just got another one, #21 with a black spiderman, again billed as "first print". Again noted subtly but clearly where someone erased the "third printing" on the first page...so I guess I would be very careful about ever considering this a second print without a very close inspection in hand first
  2. So...on very close inspection just now, I can see where someone at some point removed the "third printing" ...looks like it was erased almost with an eraser...very frustrating...so I take it back, this looks like a third printing that someone at some point tried to pass off as a first
  3. HOWEVER, you still have some things to check.... A few months ago I thought I struck gold with this copy: What am I missing? I don't see third print anywhere here...
  4. It doesn't say second print. But more importantly it doesn't say third print. All of the other black spideys I've seen clearly are marked third print. So it's a black spidey without any marking on the indicia. It isn't a first print as far as we know. There has been a rumor that the second print looks like this...so this confirms that this issue exists, and that it might just be the rumored second print...
  5. I am fairly certain that I have found a #21 SECOND print. Came today off EBay. It has black spidey on cover, without any indication on the first page/indicia. This may answer this question once and for all? First page Cover
  6. There was a company reprinting comics in the 80s called "So much fun". They did a reprint of GI Joe #63- most would consider it the "third" print of this book, as there is a first and second print by Marvel. There were apparently like 5000 printed- they are around but rare. You can tell the difference by the "so much fun" box where the UPC would be, and the "Classic" written on the cover under the "GI Joe"
  7. #2 isn't that hard to find in a higher grade but may be pricey...the #5 and #6 3D books are tricky to find in any grade, and you would probably be paying a decent price for higher grade ( I don't collect high grade so I'm guessing but maybe at least $50 each for 9.2?). What are you trying to complete? If you consider the so much fun #63 part of what your finishing that would be really pricey in 9.2 (good and very good quality go for $80 or so). The rest shouldn't be that difficult to find Hope this helps
  8. It sounds like you have first print direct editions-These dont sound like second prints.
  9. I'm not sure what you're asking. There are two versions of each issue, one newsstand and one direct. Neither is a second print. There is a second print of #52, which I don't have in front of me, but I believe does have this on the indicia listed...hope this helps
  10. The consensus seems to be no. This has come up here before, and no one has ever seen or heard of one. It appears that it doesn't exist in the true "second print" form. No one seems to know why there is a clear third print. If you fine one, good luck to you!
  11. Shotgun-I just sent you another PM- I have it to send to you. If you don't get it let me know.
  12. I just took a look at what I have- I have do have an extra copy of the Fun Pub. 2010 "Mind Games"...frankly I'm not sure if this is the one you need, or the other 2010 "Flint's vacation" (I don't have an extra of this one). They both have "2010 convention" badge on the front. If it's the Mind Games you're looking for, it's yours.
  13. That's all your missing of the thousands of covers out there? I'm humbled and impressed... Sorry I can't help I'm looking for many of the same
  14. Definitely off topic...But... I was reminded the other day while I was rereading some of the early issues as to why I was so enamored with GI Joe as a kid... I grew up on Staten Island, and I can pretty much remember the first time I opened issue #1 and saw that it was set there...I was beyond excited. When I see some of the panels now, these nonspecific backgrounds of suburban staten island, I can remember thinking that this was actually occuring on my street. There is an issue, I don't recall which, set at the mall...there are backgrounds of kids running around the mall, and I was so excited to think that it could have been me. I was 8-9 years old, and these issues were real... it was like it was really happening down the street.... Again, totally off topic, but when I read these now, I am very quickly reminded of how happy I was reading them back then...
  15. There was a discussion here a few months ago about the #21 second print- the consensus was that it doesn't exist, at least not a printed issue with "second print" on the indicia. Of all the collectors here, like silent master who has essentially every GI Joe ever printed, no one has apparently even seen one. So it looks like there is none, but the confusion as to why it's printed as a third print is unclear. It is interesting that I have recently seen a rare 3-pack of #21,22,23 showing up on EBay. The #21 cover looks the same, but I wonder if this is somehow the "second print"?
