My Action Figure cover story: Good morning all! I am a collector. I try to be a smart collector. I am also a reader. I only need one to read. With Star Wars I picked up the number one with a David Petersen (Mouse Guard) Greedo cover. When #2 rolled out I found the Han Solo AF variant and have continued to get the AF cover up to present Star Wars by Aaron/Cassaday/Immonen. I haven't picked up/read any other Star Wars titles so I am missing Leia and Vader covers I guess. ..with Secret Wars I got the Alex Ross regular cover because it was a beautiful Thing. http://nerdist.com/marvel-comics-secret-wars-1-alex-ross-cover/ I did not like the Ross cover for #2 so I got the AF cover instead. Yep you guessed it..I've continued to get the AF covers up to the present issue. To make a boring story even more boring..I have not been getting any other AF covers. Simply because I am not collecting AF covers in general and just get the cover I like best at cover price (or close to) .

I got $50 for a raw NM Alias 1 about a month ago.

I heard a story about an in-law of mine who put their entire Hummel collection into the dishwasher to clean them. Not a good idea. They pretty much got destroyed during the cycle.

I just visited CHU. I like this: "Remember, variants go up, variants go down, but as long as you are buying art you like you can never go wrong." "It is always great to walk into your local comic shop and pick up comics each Wednesday, it is even better when some of the books you picked up can be sold for multiple times cover price by the end of the week."

Priceless! It's amazing because mine probably had those same corner dings! Read it like it was the only Star Wars you could get your hands on at the time (besides the trading cards). You kids and your VCRs watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer in the summertime! Again, priceless! Awesome book you got there!

At this point I just want to be able to read the issues I don't own.

Hello! I began counting upwards with "Amazing" in 1985 around issue #265, I was 17 years old. I think it was around 1989 when I started to get serious about back issues and began buying as much as I could afford to add to my "Amazing" run. I kept at it until around 1995. The early Ditko issues were not a primary focus but I was able to snag a handful of low grades for about $25 and under during that time. August 23, 1976, in Montego Bay) is a Jamaican-American comic book artist, who has worked mostly for Marvel Comics. His first published work was a pinup in the back of one of the final issues of Dale Keown's Pitt. His first steady comics work was drawing three issues of the unpublished Century comic from Rob Liefeld's Awesome Comics. His job drawing online comics for the Matrix series led to a short stint on Iron Man when Matrix comics inker Rob Stull brought Grant to the attention of Marvel editors. Grant's website lists his influences as "Bart Sears, Capcom folks, Hiroaki Samura, Darryl Banks, Carlos Pacheco, Ed McGuiness, Claudio Castellini...[and] lots of Baroque and Renaissance guys."
