  1. Hi Eric I just received my autographed copy of Nowhere Men #2 (worship)

    Thank you so much

    Dave

Also received my SDCC 2010 Yearbook. :whee:

nice, hopefully I get mine tommorow if I got my adress in when E.S was asking for it.

Gonna have to buy a frame too. Heading to Ikea for a few frames to frame superior spiderman #1 signed and hopefully Nowhere men #? signed.

Everyone who emailed after the initial copies were gone will get copies of either the #3 reprint or #4 when I get them.

  2. Thanks Ryan, I found the original article of that graph here...hopefully the owner doesn't mind us referencing his info...

It seems that comicology's cut is very high, and I would suspect it will come down in time. Really, what's to stop any publisher from just selling them directly on their website, and eliminate the middle man all together?

I'm sure a little has to do with convenience as well, one stop shopping.......

  3. ordering 25 from midtown just means you'll have 25 to send back when they show up dented.

I have received boxes like that from them too, the worst is when I only order a few

And they come in an envelope wrapped in a brown paper bag

  4. There's a store near me who has some of the most slimy business practices i can think of. The owner is a nice guy, but he's unbelievable when it comes to certain things. On a bunch of books he has it in his system to charge cover for the first copy, and the second copy gets rang up at $8. The employee's DO NOT tell you this and it's not marked ANYWHERE. I got home one day and realized that i had paid $16 above cover price for the books i bought. I went back in and they told me about this super slimeball policy. Then to top it off, they wouldn't give me a refund since i used a card, and issued me a gift certificate. Beyond that, they price their variants through the roof, charge a quarter if you use a debit card, and the kicker, they charge for leftover FCBD issues. They even charged 50 cents a book for the new FREE cyberforce issues same day they came out. Keep in mind that they don't say a word as they are merrily adding charges to your order. There's also been several times when i used to frequent the store on a regular basis that i would get charged a few dollars extra here and there, and they would have no explanation for it whatsoever when i went back in to complain. I would not be surprised one bit if this is a regular practice that the owner encourages. They also have signs up saying that they reserve the right to change a price at the counter due to the "Volatile" price of back issues. There's more, and i could seriously go on for a while about how slimy this shop is, but i realize this isn't really the thread for it so i will abstain.

Step 1: Report to local consumer affairs

Step 2: Send in a secret shopper

Step 3: Eat lots of popcorn as you watch the store close

  5. I been on this book since day one....when I walked into the LCS I read the tittle and automatically started singing the Beatles, so I picked it up and read it. Went directly home and ordered 10 more copies. I have them hoarded away for now but I am going to slab a couple and then sell the rest so others can enjoy.

It's good to see Eric here answering questions and helping out with info, just makes it even better!

    Can't wait till #4

  6. Awesome! thank you for the reply. it was something that stuck with me after reading the first issue.

The main reason I bought the first issue the day it came out, was at the lcs and read the tittle and started singing the Beatles lol

  7. I just dived into this title with issue 6 and I'm lost. I do have a Revival #1 (1st printing) coming from a boardie and I purchased a few of the Image Firsts version so I'll read that and hopefully I'll understand what's going on but I enjoyed it and looking forward to picking up 2-5 now.

Trade is out - I would have sent you mine but I already forwarded it on... check amazon paperback tradeins - it is a terrific read...

Should I pick up the Revival Vol 1 - Ex Libris Challengers to play catch up or just the trade?

I picked up the challengers for $12

And it came with a sweet numbered print that I can't waitTo frame!!

That is nice!! Just don't use a frame with cheap glass!! I'm on an autograph forum and I can't tell you how many people did this and the print and/or autograph(s) fade and/or ruin!!

    Thanks for the tip!

  9. Oh if we're talking all printings I would have to think on that more. My above statement is for first prints minus ghost.

I don't expect there would be much of a difference. The big books are in there, and the vast majority of collectors only care about the first prints, so wouldn't bid significantly more for the extra books.
