  1. Nice but I guess my only concern is that I thought the Phantom program was to help new or not well known artists. The Revival #1 looks exactly like the original with the exception of the blood. I like the Phantom variant with the blood more than the original but this one looks a little like a quick cash grab, something the Phantom program was avoiding?!?

  2. Revival

    -----------

    1 - 18,039

    2 - 10,486

    42% drop - huge speculation

    Saga

    -----------

    1 - 37,641

    2 - 36,885

2% drop - almost no speculation

That says a lot about why 1st print revivals took so long to start climbing, SO many that needed to be worked through from the speculators.

    Current sales:

    Saga: 46,000

    Revival: 14,000

10,000 subscribers can't own a 1st print of Saga, that explains ALOT lol

4,000 revival subscribers can't have a number 2 1st print, also very interesting.

With all these different numbers you've shown, it's crazy how #2 issues aren't worth more than #1 issues. Of course, I know everyone wants the first issue.

  3. I hate the fact that people are talking about a book being dead, simply because it's not selling as well, or for as much as they would hope.

This book is not dead at all. It has 2 issues that I, and many others have enjoyed, and I for one can't wait for issue 3. Not everything is about money (shrug)

If you only care about this book, in terms of speculation, then you may very well be at a bust, but there are 3 issues being released in less than 2 months so lets see where things are when that's all been said and done.

I really pity how the modern forum has been a primarily about speculation and nothing else.

Its going to become a niche book that will appeal to certain fans. I tried to like it because I like almost all Spencer's done so far, but between the content and the art it just wasnt for me. Maybe the first trade will pull interest back in and develop a strong following. I compare it to that book JJ liked awhile back Severed.

But that's my point... You're quoting me as if I care if it's a great success or not? The only reason I want the book to succeed is if it allows the creators to continue producing a great book, or not.

Me, personally I loved it, so I want it to continue, other than that I couldn't care less if it a $4, $10, $20 or $100 book. I will stop reading it when I don't enjoy it anymore and when I don't enjoy it, and therefore don't read it, anymore I will stop posting/reading about it.

Great point. that is why i support the books i do. i want them to keep coming out. Marvel and DC dont need their books to sell to have them continue to come out. they make movies, comics are an afterthought for them.

I agree. Image does a great job and I love their comics even if they never hit the big screen. I used to never be a huge fan of Independents but I'm really loving them now. Speaking of Independent comics, has anyone read previews for Uber from Avatar? Nazi superheroes are a 1st!! lol

+1 and if a movie or show came out about this book, all the speculators would say it's the greatest thing since sliced bread :)

  5. Apparently there is a Comic's Buyer's Guide SUPPLEMENT that has an early appearance of HELLBOY.

I recently saw it sold for a jaw dropping amount (to me, anyway) on EBAY.

Here is a link to the completed auction, to get a look at the HELLBOY supplement.

    LINK

Does anyone know the exact date of the CBG that it was featured in ?

    thanks,

    Jim.

I believe it was Comic Buyer's Guide #1070.

  6. i thought all the covers were 50/50

i picked up the santa cover and my LCS seemed to have the same amount of each cover that day

I don't think they were 50/50. My local LCS never had a single variant copy for any three issues. In fact, all three issues have just sat up there on the shelf unsold.

  7. Is there a way to know the print run on the variants? I looked up #1 and it had a total of 32,977 so is that just for the regular cover? If so, then since the variant had a 1:25 ratio, does that mean there are only like 1,319 variants?

  8. I agree. The print run is larger than TMNT #1 but the book also is Deadpool's 1st appearance and still creates a buzz on eBay. Thank God he had an actual 1st appearance and not some dumb cameo appearance like Wolverine!! Once my older son got into Deadpool and comics, I quickly snagged a copy of this issue because like you said, with the upcoming video game and movie, the hype will drive the price up. I didn't buy this book as an investment piece, but more as part of a collection to work on with my son and introduce him to this great hobby.

Word for word, I could say the exact thing. Deadpool is one of those characters my son really likes, as well. And the book is obtainable in many forms, from the beat LCS copy for 10 bucks, or the several hundred dollar 9.8's. People even find them in the dollar bins regularly. I really hope they don't $&@% this movie up like they did the Punisher. Unless they reboot, he may never recover. :(

    Haha so true!!

  10. I did a research you guys are spot on, Zartan was unamed at #24. Then I really do need that #25 since I'm starting a portfolio for the Dreadnoks. But the original Dreadnoks, Buzzer, Ripper, and Torch, were unamed at the that issue, is there an issue were they got introduced?

Pretty sweet videos. Nostalgic as ever. :cloud9:

Zartan appears in the last panel of #24. Right next to the panel it says: NEXT ISSUE: The strangest deadliest foe the Joes have ever faced... the incredible... ZARTAN. So he is named in the comic, but not in the story by another character.

so it's a sort of a introduction already, really similar to the hulk wolvie scenario. very interesting...

on other news, the G.I. Joe title will be rebooting again, I think it is going to be released next year.

And introducing the first Indian-American Joe named Hashtag.

Whoa... there was Spirit (Charlie Iron-Knife), Airborne (Franklin E. Talltree), Altitude (John Edward O. Jones), Dart (Jimmy Tall Elk), and Redmack (Reginald Cobb).

Dang FNG Hashtag thinks he can come in and take claim of being the first native American in GI Joe!!!! (jk)

Spirit was the first Native American where they are claiming that Hashtag is Indian American so I'm assuming from India??

    - READING IS IMPORTANT!!!!

Sometimes you just totally screw-up... sorry everyone, please continue and ignore my comments. Thanks zekebarrett.

It's all good...knowing is half the battle (sorry, I had a G.I.Joe Public Announcement moment).
