  1. Let me say I'm sorry that this happened with Ray on the first transaction we ever had together. The deal started out pretty simple but it got complicated rather quickly for me, in my not standing up to my consignor and trying to let him persuade me into a situation I wasn't comfortable with. There was a misunderstanding in which I didn't communicate clearly enough to all the parties involved and that's my fault, but thanks to Ray asking the question and other members of the group providing answers to him, it worked out for everyone. Thanks to everybody here that helped make this deal work and I'll make sure this will never happen again!
  2. You could try my friend Tom Ziuko,. He is selling some of his color guides on my site so you can check that for examples of his work. He can work in either traditional formats or digital and has years of experience. I would highly recommend him.
  3. I think this is a great site and it helps us all find what we're looking for in an easy format. I seem to be using it more and more lately and wish you had invented it years ago! Thanks for making this great comic art resource a reality.
  4. I'm not too crazy about twice up art, though I do own some in my collection. I find it's just difficult to work with and store and mail, though there are exceptions. The basic 11 by 17 size seems to suit me so much better or even smaller pieces are attractive because they're so easy to store.
  5. I've been in the CFA APA since issue 50 so I have lots of examples if you want some to look over. Not that mine are so enlightening but there's some really good writers in the group and I would encourage anyone in this group to join up if you like to read about original art and see some great examples.
  6. I think honestly everything should be mentioned if there's flaws in the art, it's better to let it all out before you make a sale. Sometimes things can be so small you can miss them, but at least try to be informative on what you have to offer to the public.
  7. I've sold them brought back pages a few times usually for my personal collection, but I've also done some for resale. I can think of a whole lot of art that I've sold that I wish I had back but I don't think they'll be coming around again unfortunately. And the problem is if they do come around with all the price inflation who would want to pay the new prices for them again.
  8. On my small site I try to take the art off once it's sold because it's not mine to display anymore but the new owner's. And I think you can clutter up your side a lot if you have a bunch of pieces that are up there and sold. I don't think anyone is excited about finding a piece they want that's already sold.
  9. Some years ago I got some pages out of England that were mailed to me and they got wet and warped pretty badly, so once they were dry I flipped them over and wet them again with the spray bottle and ironed them out with a warm iron. Of course you have to have some type of padding in between and I believe that I used a cotton tablecloth that was folded over a few times. Then I put them under weights to help flatten them out again for a month or so and they turned out fine. They were oversized 60s pages and I thought what have I got to lose but I wouldn't exactly recommend anyone to do this. Frankly, I think I just got lucky.
