  1. that's 100% what I think. CGC said last week they'd call me with an update on my missing book when they had any info. So I'll find out Mon what the heck is going on. If so only took 9 months to get mailed to CGC.
  2. Recieved an email from Peter than my book will be in next week. Took writing a very detailed complaint to CGC to get emails from Peter. CGC said they would notify me once they had the books in hand. They're closed on weekends so I won't be able to verify this until Mon.
  3. Another great idea! If you paid by credit card you should have extra protection for Visa, etc
  4. Bait and switch is a great idea for those wanting to meet him face to face for an explanation.
  5. Highly recommend just calling CGC. Option 1 for customer service and the wait is seconds to mins. They've helpful and nice. Cynthia from CGC is helping me and she's very nice. Calling them is not like calling a phone or cable company. It's been quick and pleasant so far!
  6. well CGC hasn't located my book yet and Peter makes it sound in the email like CGC has it. So ya I wouldn't be surprised if the arrival date of my book was today or in the next couple days. CGC is supposed to contact me when they have an update. So it is one of the questions I'm going to ask. Anyone who has a book getting CGC'd by them that thinks it should have been back by now should definitely call CGC and see if they have a status. Website for Paradise is down again. Where there's smoke there's usually fire.
  7. lol, oh ya I read the email the same way from Paradise. If you read all my posts the past few days you'll see I've been getting lots of blame deflecting from Paradise. Which is why I called CGC to verify his email. At this point if I don't hear it from CGC I don't believe it. I met Peter at the store many times over the years and he was very personable. I enjoyed chatting with him and Doug when I stopped in to drop off or pick up books. I'm sad it came to this. Seems like his right hand man Doug leaving has really shaken the place. If I was him I'd do all I could to get him back and repair the client relationships. I did like Peter but after this I will never set foot in that store again. I don't care if Steve Ditko is brought back to life for one in store appearance. I've heard rumors from close sources of some personal things that have gone down the past year. Not really my place to share. But I figured since I was having such a hard time with my submission (and I'm not one to back down) I'd share my ongoing story with you guys. Hopefully it will help someone who feels helpless on what to do.
  8. CGC said they would contact me when they had any information on the book. So I called CGC this morning regarsing Peter's email. They said the invoice still doesn't show in their system. But she said the director was going to speak directly to Peter regarding it. Which I'm guessing is why I got the email late last night. The customer service person said that CGC would be putting a rush on it to get it out quickly. She said that CGC hadn't located the book yet. All of this makes me think it was at Paradise this whole time and not sent to CGC. So I'll learn more when CGC calls in the next few days.
  9. Wow an email from Peter at Paradise. I'm guessing CGC was in contact with him today after my complaint... Sent: Wed, 21 Mar 2018 at 11:35 PM Subject: Your CGC shipment Hey Jeff, I am talking with CGC about your invoice. They have located and I am confident it will be in our next shipment that is scheduled on march 29th. I will confirm with you as soon as I know it is included. Thanks Peter
  10. Check your invoice numbers with CGC and see if they have them on file. My missing book was to be signed at SDCC by Stan Lee and CGC has no record of it.
  11. Messaged the X-Men #1 guy and he replied. He said his complaint eventually got sorted out. And it took quite a while with poor communication. ASM #14 guy never replied to me. So I don't know if it was ever resolved.
  12. Here's 3 screen shots of other people that left neegative reviews on Paradise's facebook site in 2018 that are CGC related. One of them apparently ASM #14 was lost and he was not reimbursed.
  13. Thankfully I got a prompt response this morning from Cynthia at CGC. Management is looking into my submission along with my complaint against Paradise. My email was very detailed and similar to my post above.
  14. Thanks for sharing that! I had heard recently he wouldn't sign blanks anymore. Was curious what drawing caused. I figured it would be something overly sexual not violent. Who ever the artist was did a great job. Never seen this artists signature before. Guessing Stan isn't a Walking Dead fan or else he likely wouldn't have taken such offence to it. If Stan wouldn't sign the back they could have just flipped the book to the front and hoped back in line. Not like Stan or Max are checking both sides of books with thousands being signed at Cons.
  15. It's the same green carbon copy CGC Signature Series form used for all CGC submissions.
  16. Nothing surprises me anymore since my invoice number isn't registered with CGC. Forgot to mention she also asked who I spoke to at CGC about my invoice. I said I didn't ask for a name. She then went on about well how do I know you even called them then. I then pulled up my phone records and said there you go a 20 min coversation with CGC's phone number. She then went on well CGC can't give you any info because its our account. I told her there's no info to give because my 9 month old invoice doesn't exist. This whole incident really has my blood boiling. Everyone who currently has CGC submissions with Paradise should be calling CGC and seeing if their invoices even exist. Don't wait patiently. What does everyone think is going to happen with their CGC submissions if Paradise goes under? Highly doubt we'll all be getting our books back since its under Paradise's account.
  17. Hey Spawn were you at Toronto Comic Con when you overheard that conversation? If so I think it was you I was talking with after. Thanks for sticking around, listening and approaching me after. Nice to have an unbiased witness.
  18. Thanks Bob I won't be backing down until I have my book back! Not one to shy away from a fight when I know I'm right.
  19. Thanks for the compliment on my book. Hopefully I'll see it again one day. I understand the purests point of view... stick with people who worked on the books.... Stan didn't write it he shouldn't sign it. Also understand the point of view that comics shouldn't be signed at all an enjoyed for what they are. I for one see Marvel wouldn't exist without Stan. So any potential high value blank variant I put together I try to add his signature. Certainly doesn't hurt the value.
  20. Hey CGC fans! I'm from the Toronto area and I'm in the same boat as others here. Dropped off my Star Wars #1 blank signed by Carrie Fisher & David Prowse with a Darth Vader sketch by Nick Bradshaw. Paid Paradise Comics $275 upfront to have the graded book cracked open and Stan Lee's signature added. That was July of 2017 and now its the end of March 2017. With all the cons Stan Lee was cancelling I thought I'd check what was happening with my book at Paradise. Never had a problem before so I assumed it has to be an issue like wrong email or phone number on file. Contacted Paradise via email and Peter's wife Kristina replied. I couldn't find my invoice so she said she'd look for it and get back to me. 3 weeks later nothing but hey I found my invoice!!! Sent the invoice number to Kristina and she said she'd let me know as soon as CGC replies. Stopped by the shop a week later and the guy at the counter said Peter and Kristina were out. They live above the store so I'm not sure how much of that was a line. Decided to call CGC myself since I wasn't thrilled with the customer service I got the past month. Surprise Surprise!!! CGC said they had ZERO record of my invoice. CGC said my book (according to their records) was never sent in!!! F'ing fantastic!! Since I had never previously had an issue with Paradise I called asking for Peter who of course was not available. I told the employee Peter had 24 hours to call me before the bad reviews started. He assured me after I got off the phome with him he would call Peter immediately. 30 hours passed with no call and I reached out again. I told the same story to another employee and of course Peter wasn't around. I told this person Peter had until the evening to call me back or expect bad reviews. Trying to gice Peter a chance because over the past 7-10 years never a problem. No phone call surprise surprise!!! I had no idea how much manager Doug who quit Paradise actually ran the store. I then changed my 5 star facebook review (left several years ago) to a very harsh 1 star warning fellow CGC collectors of my story above. Was at Toronto Comic Con this weekend and bumped into Peter's wife Kristina the project manager who still hasn't gotten an update from CGC in a month. I confronted her with a scan of my missing CGC book on my phone and asked where it was. I informed her I left a bad review since my calls were ignored. She went on to blame CGC turn around times (she can't make them send the books out faster), also blaming previous manager Doug who quit along with their high staff turn over the past year. Saying they were working tirelessly to turn this around and then switchrd it up by dishing out some attitude for leaving a bad review. Since it could possibly affect her livelihood. I informed her Peter recieved several warnings over 24 hrs. I told her I would take down the bad review once I received confirmation from CGC that they had my book. Told her I didn't even need the book in hand. Just want to know someone has it. She went on to tell me what do you think we still have your book? We aren't insured enough to keep all these books people want sent to CGC in our home (they own the shop & place above). She assured me they send every book away immediately upon receiving them. All the while getting more agitated with me slowly raising her voice. She proceeded to tell me I'm not going to contact you if I have nothing to tell you. We are not friends! She told me I'm texting Peter right now to have you CC'd on an email to CGC to sort this whole thing out Monday. Ok aince it's now Tues you can probably guess what happened yesterday..... Wait for it.... Wait for it.... you guessed right NO EMAIL! Fool me once... fool me twice.... fool me 3 times.... heck think I've been fooled 4 times now. Anyways unbeknownst to me there was a CGC board member watching the entire confrontation at Toronto Comic Con. After I finished talking with her he approached me and said he couldn't believe how that conversation went and the nerve. He told me all about this ongoing CGC thread regarding Paradise. Said that he'd been waiting about a year for his books. So today I spoke to Cynthia at CGC and asked her to check my invoice #. Somehow hoping my luck changed. Once again it is not found. Told her I wanted to submit a complaint to CGC and she provided her email address. Fired it off to her pleading for CGC to do something with Paradise. Informed them of my situation and sent screen shots of the 3 other similar negative reviews on Paradise's facebook from 2018. Also told them of this forum regarding CGC issues with Paradise. Told CGC if they can tell me within 48 hours this is a misunderstanding I won't proceed to the Better Business Bureau against Paradise Comics. We'll see what CGC says in the next 48 hours. I'm fully willing to take this further. Anyone else wants to hop on board I welcome it. I'll be leaving more negative reviews soon. If I have to I'll protest outside their in store events and go to the media. This is purely ridiculous and unacceptable!!!! Let's work to uncover the truth of what's happening people.
  21. Are you having a non payment issue? Something is "up" with this eBayer. Buying and only paying for some things, never responding to messages, sometimes responding to NPB cases opened, and now not shipping out things he/she sold: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=packers1181&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2776 My eCheck is still pending. Email received today that the bank declined the eCheck. Unless you like your items being bought and put in limbo, add packers1181 to your lists. packers1181 BINed a book on 04/03/2015. No payment, no communication, I opened NPB case on 04/15/2015. Add me to the club Bought 4/9, had to open UPI on 4/15. Ignored polite nudge on the 13th. Funny thing is, he bought a few books from me a while back and there were no problems. Should have known better, like 01dude, because of his poor taste in football teams though I'm a Vikes fan. Well add me to the list also! packers1181 was the sole bidder on my ebay comic art auction that closed a on 14 April 2015. Several days after the initial bid they bid on it two more times to increase their minimum bid. Resent the invoice each of the last 3 days and tried communicating to the buyer with no luck. Checked their feedback and found a bunch of negative feedback for not shipping items that he sold in the past few weeks. Also in the positive feedback section there was negative feedback for nonpayment from various sellers recently. 398 transactions in the past month and a slew of complaints the past couple months. Guess I'll be calling ebay also to file a complaint. Appears like something fraudulent has started happening with this account. Looks like this person will be going on my blocked list also! **UPDATE** Conacted ebay to warn them there may be fraudulent activity taking place. I've noticed the person bidding up items they haven't won... so buyers are paying more than they would have because of this person. The ebay rep is going to speak to their supversor about closing the account immediately.
  22. The intent may not have been there on your part but you linked my gallery to the Jerry S rant and asked who was more MAROON. I think we both now what MAROON is supposed to say. I originally read it as your comment not realizing it was a quote from Jerry S. Either way I still didn't appreciate it and it certainly felt like a tag team.
  23. Which one is more MAROON? COLLECTOR A or COLLECTOR B If you don't own it, it shouldn't be on display in your CAF --------- Sorry it wasn't just you it was a Jerry S / Not So Nice tag team. I edited my comment to reflect that now. Thanks for posting my CAF site with the not so nice comments.
  24. Jerry some people collect because they love the art and /or the story. Kara and Tony own Walking Dead cover 1, 2, 3 and were asked at Fan Expo 2012 if they would sell the covers. Kara said never it's not for sale and she had an offer for issue #1 close to 6 figures. Walking Dead #19 had an offer for $25,000 that was turned down on comiclink. Walking Dead 1 pg2 splash sold for over $10,000 and it was one of Tony Moore's friends that purchased. She told me how much he bought it for back in 2006 and it would blow some peoples minds how much profit he made. Sure it's fun to speculate but the fact of the matter is Walking Dead 27 cover is not for sale. Not sure why you keep mentioning my cover on the CGC boards. I could go through your collection and post the high prices you're trying to fetch on ebay and post some of the prices you paid but that would be just plain rude. Not to mention insulting Charlie's art on the board. I've talked with Charlie and he's one of the nicest artists. Just like when your at work some days your stellar and some days you might not be into it. Either way you're buying it like it's bars of gold or Apple stock. Take it easy on the guy no need to trash him publically. He's on the internet all the time and so is his art rep.
