  1. Going to have my eyes peeled for Five Ghosts info tomorrow!
  2. Looks fantastic! (as usual). There isn't a single copy of Five Ghosts, of any issue, at any of my local comic shops. I think readers agree there is nothing like it on the stands.
  3. It would be a great disservice to not read Polarity #1 when you have it at your fingertips. There is a reason it is selling above cover - it's good.
  4. You and me both. Completely shameless plug of some of my reviews: http://wearecomicreviewers.com/category/image/five-ghosts-the-haunting-of-fabian-gray/ Been trying to track down where/how to purchase Chris' work since but I'm a bit naive of the art buying experience. This thread has been a mountain of information (thanks!).
  5. I mean, if you want me to gush about the book I can go panel by panel.
  6. +1. First thing that popped into my mind too. Whether its true or not is another question altogether and one that should require some research and data. Generally speaking - the convention season doesn't seem putter out internet sales until late Aug/September. It begins to pick back up around November and is a force in January. It would seem the convention season going strong just influences those not at the conventions to seek their goodies online as well as focusing dealers to the internet to pick up issues they can't keep in stock.
  7. Very cool!! Now to summon my own Holmes and track down copies for myself
  8. As soon as I heard there was an ashcan I started trying to track one down too. Very excited to see the pics when you get a chance to post them. Obviously, take your time with the wife (happy anniversary).
  9. I would be super interested to hear if/when he will be selling FG OA in the future. I haven't been able to make it to a con where he was at to actually meet/ask him and google turned up nothing. Been dying to own a piece since reading the first issue (his splash pages are to die for). Both Chris and Frank are incredibly talented and Frank has been super kind when I tweet at him.
  10. Chris is insanely talented. I've been dying to pick up some FG OA but it looks like I'll be waiting a while
  11. That says nothing of their actual "heating up on eBay". You can buy Uncanny X-Men #282 all day ~$5. You can't do that with New Mutants #16.
  12. This was hot a few years ago, wasn't it? This has been a fairly steady $5 book for some time. Seeing the sales it has now is news for the last 3ish years of my knowledge. Definitely keeping my eye on this book.
  13. Bishop > Warpath Just sayin... We have to choose just one?
  14. New Mutants 16 is growing legs. Cheap copies are drying up and it's starting to move to a solid $10 book.
  15. A part of controlling the supply of anything is to make sure you do just that. If you feed market demand, the market price doesn't rise. Demand is creeping up on the book (look at the sell-through rates). Sounds like Comicalgems is doing just fine. Patience is a virtue when dealing with commodities.
  16. I'm talking about the recent trending of solid sales (all green completed) with the complete price ending in the $10-$12 range on most. Couple that with the current supply of BIN listings not being under $12 and you have an upwards trend.
  17. Look at that, Blackacre #1 is marching upwards. Who has 8,000 copies again?
  18. Polarity #1 is heating up and for good reason. The book is brilliant.
  19. Why set limits on how many people can be your friend? Or have a gate keeping ritual of participation in place before they are bestowed current stock knowledge? I guess I see the situation as people wanting to purposely choose how their "goodwill" is disseminated. I don't see the reason to limit something that is so positive for the growth of the community we all belong to (whether we post or not). I'm not exactly an old-timer here but I created an account because a Google search aimed at PGX vs CGC brought me here. After that I spent weeks on the forums looking at the wealth of information that was publicly available to this community before I ever created an account. The idea of keeping information you want to "share" private reminds me a lot of this:
  20. Booooo to the idea of taking a very popular thread and turning it private. Doesn't everyone want the community here to grow with more active members? Having a thread that is regularly lurked and comes up high in search results is a great beacon to attract more people to this community. Why try to actively avoid that?
  21. I can't wait for the pink cover in October. Might not be too crazy of an idea to harness the demand of the secondary market to raise funds for a good cause either.
