I get why this would be handy sometimes, but it's also a problem if people click on super huge posts. This one is unlikely to come back. If I stumble across a plugin that might help get to the intent of this without actually loading every post in a huge thread, I'll see if it makes sense to install.

I turned off the hover stuff on each forum that showed the description. I THINK that's the only one that pretty much popped up a hover with no delay. It's also the only one I can easily control, and probably the least useful one. The trade off is that not the descriptions always show, so it's a bit more scrolling, but it's probably better that it's off anyway.

Yes, there is. We have a file that will handle 301 redirects from the old boards to each separate instance of the new boards. When that happens all of the old posts links will work and search engine results will gracefully redirect to the right post on the new boards. The delay is due to making sure that old users aren't left behind and a bit of technical stuff with a swap to a new server for the old domain along with verifying the functionality of some of the other things besides the boards software that the old server was hosting. It should be done soon though.

It looks like the noobies questions and general discussion were merged by a moderator. I don't know why yet. I am not sure it was intentional. It would be massively time consuming to undo it though, so we might be stuck starting a new thread.

I think if you turn off these notifications, you will still get something over your inbox icon, but not on notifications:

I've looked for a plug-in that does this but there's no convenient way to bring this feature back. I miss it too.

The new v1.3 themes make things much more compact. Probably not quite as much as the old boards, but more compact.
 

I installed a plugin that makes this visible on the posts without hovering on DESKTOP. It hides it on mobile to preserve space.

There are cards at the top of a message showing the message participants and whether they have read everything in the PM.

Hm, never tried that before, but I don't think it would ever have worked if you are talking about copy/pasting an image from your file system. If you were highlighting it on a web page, you might be able to post a link to an image.

I think you mean turning on Signatures. You can find that under the "Settings" menu at the top under "Signature Settings"

There are no rules, I believe, against stating in a set description that the set is for sale.

Sometimes, especially in a thread with many large pictures, there's a delay between starting the page loading and jumping to the first unread post. Have you noticed whether, if you wait, you eventually move to the first unread thread? Or does it permanently get stuck?

As a question - no way to put the jump to unread link inside the post that I can see without customizing pretty significantly.
As a feature request, it might be interesting. You could add it to the change requests forum.

There is a pencil icon at the top of the page in the menu bar that toffees some basic options. It isn't tons, but it's something.

You couldn't lactate an answer? Well, it was answered already, but believing in the milk of human kindness, I'll re-post that this doesn't appear to be adjustable by each user.
Because we're still running a few migration tasks here and there as we discover issues, we are still occasionally slowing the boards down a bit with database adjustments. My guess is you just hit a slow spike. Does that page load slowly for you every time?

Interesting. It looks like you have found a genuine bug. I thought it might be a theme problem, but even the IP boards default theme doesn't show that control.
