  1. Remember that costume contest that they had a while back? The girl who won by dressing up as the Stalk got these as a prize:

    :o

I wish I knew what the rest of the message said..... !!!!

I pulled these off Reddit, the winner is an avid redditor and she refuses to reveal what BKV said :P.

  2. I watched Greg Rucka talking about it on a ECCC stream and it sounds really interesting and I will definitely be picking it up.

Edit: Found it! Greg starts talking about it at 2.40

Here is the Preview he is stalking about in that video:

Edit: @ the 5 minute mark of the video is where he describes what the book is about. Was gonna pass on this till I heard him describe what it is.

  3. I remember BKV talking about how he was going to end the series if it wasn't popular.

He "would have ended [the series] with the two main characters dying on the rocketship launch pad in issue 5 if the series had not been successful"

    BKV sure likes tragedies

glad that didn't happen though, and I am really excited for the infinite possibilites for adventure in this world.

  4. I am a big fan of TWD the show, but I never got into the comic. I'd love to have TWD #1 because I love the show but not because I'm a fan of the book. I guess thats is why the #1 is such a collectible though eh?

But anyways this is the East of West board. Scifi-Westerns are awesome. Check out 'Firefly' on Netflix for an AWESOME scifi-western.

  5. I'm not an expert (unlike some), but if you chase hype every week you'll be broke before the end of the month. Chase quality and buy something cool on occasion. I bought THE MASSIVE 1-8 today for $20 shipped, not because I think I can sell it at 10x cover, but because I wanted to check it out. 2c afternoon rant

gahhhh. Gonna cost me an extra 12 bucks to have it shipped here to Canada. I've also been wanting to read Ultimate Spider-man cause I heard its amazing and I can get it for about 10 more bucks shipped and its 11 more comics.

Let me know how it is.

  6. I think this will be another Bedlam in terms of speculating.

Too many people buying gobs of copies for it to be say a NWM or PP.

Or it can be another SAGA. Established writer taking on a new property after success with other titles. Hmmm.

Im pretty sure Saga skyrocketed because it won comic of the year. In December you could get a CGC 9.8 for 70-100. Comparing this book (or any book) to Saga in February is a little bit premature. Especially since we don't know much about it other than its a Sci-fi western with a talented team.

    Edit: It's February not January..

  7. An abundance of variants doesn't seem to be healthy for books. One or two variants can be great but no more (look at ToT or Saga). When there are 4 or more covers to a #1 its a turn off for me to collect them.

  8. This series never really grabbed my interest. I ended up giving a copy away as a secret santa gift along with 9 other comics and this is the one sereis (as well as 'Lookouts') that my recipient said he really liked and would like to keep reading.
