I have a copy of #1 but haven't gotten around to reading it cause the reviews have been pretty mixed for it. This board seems to have a lot of love for it which is normally a good thing. I'll give it a go tomorrow (when I'm a bit more sober).

The biggest thing I take from it is why would Layman make those comments a few weeks back about the -script being 'shockingly loyal' and stuff only to announce it was cancelled. Maybe he was unaware or maybe he kept the hype up until he could offload his #1s (conspiracy). I doubt he would do the latter though right?

yup, I will concede that that comment was ill considered. I just get wary of books when there is so much speculation behind it.

East of West is going to have a very high print run. Don't see the value of it going up unless someone grabs it for a TV show.

I have 1 #1 and 1 2nd print of Black acre, what is driving the hype on this one? I actually havent gotten around to reading it yet but I ordered it cause I remember a lot of people talking about it.

How funny would it be if they are the same cover and the 2nd print hits consumers before the Special Edition. That would basically make the Special Edition a 2nd print of the 2nd print wouldn't it? and for 30x the price. Also if this is the case the fault lies on the creators to rectify this problem with Larry. He told them he would prefer to keep it a SE. If this is true then I could see him getting an even better variant for Bedlam in the future for his troubles. But this is all conjecture until Larry lets us know whats up.

I'll start shipping this week ( Thurs or Friday ) as soon as I get my MASSIVE My Little Pony orders out the door. *I resized the photo so it's easier to compare But from a small blurry picture like that it looks the same as the second printing.

I read it and I thought it was interesting, I'm on for the first arc. There was more than 100 pages of posts before the 1st issue came out so I was wondering what was up with everyone being so excited about it. So it is the creative team and the potential to be easily converted to a screenplay thats driving the hype?

What is with all the hype with this book? What is the justification for it?
