  1. That's a very cool book. I love the added touch with the flames at the bottom of the cover. [thumbsup]
  2. A Classic! Thanks guys, it's a keeper for me! This book just became the newest addition to my "WANT LIST". Great book!!!
  3. Anyone up for some Head Stew? I love the "goat feet" on this guy:
  4. Great Book!! I'm still searching for a copy of this one. [thumbsup]
  5. Nice one Dave! Great cover!!! I cant wait until they add this title to the CGC registery.
  6. Awsome book!!! [thumbsup] That one has been on my list for way too long.
  7. I guess the grader at CGC didn't have a heart either. That is an excellent looking 3.0. I wonder what brought it down? You wuz robbed. I would buy that copy as a raw 4.0 I agree. Must be something on the inside keeping it down. I'd take that kind of 3.0 copy all day.
  8. Electrocution....Frankenstein.....L. B. Cole.... It doesn't get any better than this!!! [thumbsup]
  9. It has a lot of pressable defects. I think it could bump up to a 4.0 or 4.5. Here's another candidate for pressing. It has a subscription crease that may press out although it does break the color a little on the bottom. Otherwise it's a beautiful glossy copy.
  10. This is my copy. I thought CGC was tough on it. It may be a candidate for resubmission. There's no pieces missing or tears. What do you think?
  11. These are all great points, but there is one aspect that hasn't been touched on. There are many great covers out there that don't come up for sale very often. Some of these precode books don't have tons of file copies in high grades. It's not were, if one comes up and the price is a little high, you can just wait for another one to come up for a better price. You have to consider how scarce the book is in that grade. If you miss out on a 7.5 or 8.0, you may not see another come up for years.
  12. Great Book!!! Nothing says Christmas like monkey brains. [applause]
  13. Thank's again for all your wonderful comments.[smile] I should just post the blueprints right here on the thread. I have to tell you...I don't normaly do this sort of thing. I mean... turning out all the lights. I'm ...er...afraid of the dark.
  14. Those are beautiful books. The River City and Spokane are killer copies. The Thing 7 sends shivers down my spine.[thumbsup]
  15. Here's a shot with all the lights out and just the led's lit. Groovy
  16. Here's the "Wall of Fame" filled with EC horror. A lot of the books were early CGC submissions. For all the books you can't make out the grades on, you'll have to take my word for it......They're all 9.8's
  17. Thank's everyone for all the positive comments. I've had a request to fill the wall with EC horror books. I'm going to post some pix in the Recent Pre-code Purchases thread. If your an EC fanaddict you'll want to check it out. And to adamstrange: I'm sending you the blueprints.
  18. Hello everyone, [hi] I'm Brian and I'm new to the boards, but not to collecting comics. I've enjoyed reading these threads over the last few weeks and I'd like to join in on some of the conversations. I've met a few bordies already and you all seem like a great group of guys. I wanted to share with you my "Wall of Fame" in my comic room. I built this myself. It displays 30 books and has accent lighting above the books. I've filled it with some of my L. B. Cole collection. Here's a few pix:
