  1. Just to try to clear my name as not trying to stir the pot, that was never my intention, and I thought some people on these boards would be interested to know that a CGC 10 of #2 just popped. I have known Revival_Hoarder for several years and he is a friend, I feel like he and several members took this a little too personal, so I am not taking sides on any of the mud-slinging; it's a book that is the first CGC 10, so it is always hard to say what an actual value would be until it is sold. I just put out there that I feel like $500 is definitely a low value on this book, and I have no idea how I got tied into projecting it as a $5,000 book or anything on that note. If it is just one buyer paying ludicrous amounts, then what evidence is out there that he has all of a sudden stopped paying ludicrous amounts and would not do so for this book? As far as valuation of the series in general, you would definitely have to beleive a little bit of the value of this series was tied up into the NBC project that has since become defunct. While there are fans of this series purely for its writing and art, there are also Walking Dead Wishers on the speculative side of investing in anything that gets optioned for a show or movie. How else would you explain books like Mind MGMT and Sixth Gun blowing up overnight? When a series that is optione gets the boot on the project like Revival and Chew did, you should expect their values to drop some. The $7400 sale of the CGC 10 SS #1 certainly will open some eyes on this series again though. Now can't we all just get along?
  2. If this were 1985 and it was Madonna on the cover, dressed as a nun, I'd agree that there would be controversy. That controversy ship on anything like this sailed, with a cargo hold full of parachute pants and unsold Vanilla Ice CDs. Ironically I work with Z.Cavaricci's cousin, and he says that his cousin made a fortune off those pants and is living a finely luxurious life because of them.
  3. I just figured a young woman scantily clad and tied up on a bed in front of a grown man drinking a beer is a little bit controversial to the world today, I guess it doesn't have as much shock value as two Ohio High School football stars both having their way with an inebriated high school girl at a party, but it should count for something. It seems more graphic to me than the Hard Rock Hotel Guns'N'Roses Robot Rape shirt that caused a huge local stir and was selling for $100+ on eBay after it was pulled from employees. I'm not trying to stir anything up here, like I said, I have no financial interests tied up in the book. Unless he actually sells it, I guess we won't know unless another CGC 10 ever pops up for it.
  4. I guess we could all join a Wednesday night Book Club and bust a few bottles of Sutter Home White Zinfandel to discuss the story.
  5. When I got my CGC 9.8 Panzerfaust #2 in a month ago, I was offered $200 for it and told that would be the going rate, but I chose to let it ride on an ebay auction and got $468 plus shipping for it. Revival #2 is more limited than #1, doesn't have a handful of different variants like #1 did, is a controversial cover with the bondage, and is the first appearance of the main villain/protagonist. I agree that it's not a $5000 book, but there's no way it's only a $500 book either. I wouldn't hseitate for a second to pay $500 and flip it, but it's not my book and the owner isn't selling. Just my take.
  6. Mutiple 9.9's for #2 sold for $200. 10 would get $400-500 IMHO I thought both of those 9.9's were snatched up quickly on Buy It Now's at too low of prices, I wouldn't be surprised if a 9.9 at auction was at that $500 mark (there's one up now, so I guess we'll see). CGC 10's just don't happen, and based off the $7500 for the #1 SS, I would buy the CGC 10 #2 from him in a heartbeat for $500 and offer to repaint his house as well.
  7. And a CGC 10 was just handed out for a Revival #2, the owner of the book just got the book in yesterday and told me about it this morning (and yes, he sent me a photo of it). I told him to sell it and get a nice Hulk 181, but he said it's his first CGC 10 and he has no intentions of selling (plus he's only into it for $30, so I guess that's one way to look at it). What do you guys think a CGC 10 on #2 would bring?
