  1. R2D2 is the variant for Star Wars 6

    Looks nice! :headbang:

I just saw the R2-D2 action figure variant cover on the Previews website for upcoming variants. I actually think this is the best variant so far.

Hopefully the action figure variant for Star Wars #7 ends up being a Jawa. My fear of a Jawa variant - is that there would be two of them. A normal cloth cape Jawa and an ultra-exclusive Jawa variant cover with a vinyl cape though.

Of interest, following the Marvel Panel at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, I mentioned that it would be really cool to have action figure variants of the three new popular characters introduced in Darth Vader #3 (i.e. Dr. Aphra, Triple Zero, and BT-1). However, because these characters don't yet have action figures in the real world, this might be stretching it.

  2. please move on to discussing a book i own, preferably one i have multiples of

    thanks

You mean like this one?

    Deathlok 1

    Or these?

STAR WARS RETURN OF THE JEDI 1-4

    Or maybe . . . :cloud9:

    New Mutants 100

If Star Wars Return of the Jedi is the first appearance of Jabba the Hutt then it's undervalued.

Star Wars #2 is more of a 1st appearance of Jabba. However, the Jabba of Star Wars #2 is more of the old character design (i.e. a bi-ped)

  3. I'm giving it a few more days then I am going through the paypal process for a refund.

My last name starts with "F" (not the F-word though). I just received my email from stamps indicating my book (believed to be the Boba Fett Action Figure variant) was shipping today. This has seemed like a long wait given I made my order within a couple of hours of going on sale.

  4. just got this email:

Attention: Darth Vader #3 allocated by Diamond Distribution‏

    Hello,

We just received word that our Distributor allocated our original invoice for Darth Vader #3 and we will not be receiving the stock we had initially thought. It is possible the remainder will be shipped to us next week, however we will not know until we are able to view next weeks invoice. As a result, we will not be able to fulfill orders on the Darth Vader #3 at this point. We can do one of two options for you. If you would prefer to cancel the order (or just the Darth Vader #3 portion), let us know and we can refund you for the item right away. However if you'd prefer to wait until we can find out if Diamond will be sending the remainder, I can hold the order for a week, however I can not make any promises that we will be getting those in. Either way, just let us know by replying to this message, or give us a call at xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Thanks and sorry for the bad news.

    Graham Crackers Comics

This seems like an impending doom. I called my local comic store and they implied they might not have any available.

  5. Just a little thought.

Diamonds are common as, well, dirt, but their value is elevated simply because of the steady, continuous demand. It doesn't ALWAYS have to be a small supply for prices to be higher than seems logical.

SW1 is also benefiting from the current comic key craze going on right now. Rising tide, and all that.

I have no idea about the current pricing, whether it will stay, increase, decrease, whatever. Time will tell.

    And neither does anyone else.

    :applause:

100K or 500K printed, there are MILLIONS of Star Wars fans. Supply is only one side of the coin, and the demand is there for ths book.

    :)

This has been both a fun and non-fun debate at the same time. I can't help but be worried that it could lead to the wrath of 50's war comics like what happened during a debate on the 2015 Star Wars series before last Christmas. That debate was so foreboding that I still feel worried about my purchase of the new Star Wars series (which I don't even intend on selling).

  6. This thread completely delivers. It's so easy to tell who owns a SW 1 9.8 and who doesn't based on what they post. Great stuff here.

My #1 was a gift. I am collecting the run.

    I have a lot more frustration trying to find a #92 & #96 in cgc 9.8!

    The prices for #42 #68 #107 and #2, #4, #5, and #6 are all climbing.

A low census #25 9.8 (or around there) bid to almost $300.00. It is a non issue. It was just low census. I thought I could buy it for $125 given what I was paying in November. I wasn't even close.

Several guys I have gotten to know in this effort were buying 9.8s in the run for $50.00. I found one under $100 in the last 2 months. Perhaps I just stink at finding better deals.

Getting the #1 was easy! I could care less what it is worth now.

However, when you see the entire run get more expensive every week, there is something more going on then a few fake auctions. Call it a bubble but it has affected more then just #1 and the scope is much larger then two auctions on eBay.

I totally agree with your perspective on #1. I have a copy in 9.8 but it's only one part of a set that I have been working on for years to complete.

Part of me has really not wanted the interest for #1 or any of the other issues to increase in value because it just makes it harder and harder to complete the set for the low census issues.

With respect to the problem issues, I have submitted a fair number of raw issues to help contribute to a lot of 9.6's in the census (grrrrr).

  7. Boba Fett did make an appearance in an episode of the Droids cartoon. It's the episode titled "A Race to the Finish".

I wish a complete DVD set of this series could be released someday instead of the few grouped episodes that were released on DVD in late 2004.

  8. Anyone know if Boba Fett or Darth Vader show up in either of the Star Comics lines Ewoks or Droids?

Darth Vader is in Droids #6-8. These are the issues which adapt episode IV according to R2-D2 and C3PO.

I don't recall Darth Vader or Boba Fett being in any other issues of Droids and Ewoks.
