Ha! You're welcome. Is there a stigma against all variants or just the lame 52 flags kind of stuff.
Just when it goes overboard IMO. Bedlam #1 is a good example - there are like 6 first prints, a second print and some BS 'Limited Edition' that Larry's released a bit later at $60 or so. It's absolutely one of my favorite books, but the collectibility is held back a little by the oversaturation.
Saga #1 is a good example of a perfect variant situation - a super-limited edition of 500 RRP, the regular issue and then the later prints.
I like the way you're doing the second prints of Todd as true variants though, riffing on the first print covers, but with major changes.
Good insight -- thank you! I just got the art for the cover of TODD issue #2 2nd printing. Will post here as soon as soon as it's in layout and look forward to hearing your thoughts. Also, other big news coming out of ECCC!
Absolutely Agree! Just look at the Guardians of the Galaxy already. I was really looking forward to this series, but out of the gate, there are about 15 variants of #1. Totally un-needed.
