  1. Curious, why? Was it featured/discussed on a website or forum somewhere? I am stymied as well. I have no idea why. I was just browsing for books and noticed it. I've know about this for a while and from my LCS, it's because it was a pain to qualify for, making it....wait for it....rare... and moon knight
  2. Don't know what you are talking about.... you don't sell comics? seriously tired of trolls on this thread... First off, I'm not trolling whatsoever. What exactly do you mean when you say you don't know what I'm talking about? It's pretty simple. They literally pumped up Detective Comics #850 as the 1st appearance of Gotham City Sirens. Before Topher posted a thread on CBSI, it was easily found online and ebay for $1-3 a copy. Then he and Trey pumped it up around the clock for days on end, it vanished from ebay and now sells for $30+ a copy based on a false labeling of 1st appearance of Gotham City Sirens, a label they single-handedly created. Trey even said on their board, as well as the podcast, that this was one of the specs of the year. Well here we are now finding out there are at least 2 other books that are absolutely before TEC850 with the Gotham City Sirens together. Oh, and what does me selling or not selling books have to do with anything I posted? huh?

  4. so what I'm watching right now... God country.... writer has some pretty good track record, sold out at diamond, image lately has toned down their print runs again...small premium on the presales right now, less see tomorrow... bloodblister... presales are a real , but the writer is good, and people who have read it say it's really good... from the publisher of animosity... neither of these are no brainers... I'm calling on titans knights of relativity.... Some reason Titan has never really performed for me, even when they put out such great reads... Solar Flare looks like it's going to perform pretty well, small print run for self published versions, picked up by scout comics; people say it's a good read, art looks good, an easy topic to see going to TV/movie... if you can find copies of the self published versions for cheap....
  5. I guess I don't really get it as harry potter appeared in mystic 15 and futurama 16.... 1st authorized appearance?
  6. you all do realize that books of magic's Harry can be seen as the first 'proto-type' in that Rowlings admitted to reading those prior to coming up with a character so similar....
  7. The print What do you mean by "no brainer"? Not here to flame. The print runs on these self published books are far smaller then when a larger company starts to print them.... So far none of comics that I have seen that meet the right conditions have failed to do well: The art is good, people who read them say they are good, they are going to get a major publisher to back them ( major as in people know the name ), and there is some multi-media interest. I even made money on 'the humans'.... So I see a high probability that this will take off, once red five re-publishes this series... It's always a gamble....may the odds always be in your favor.... but, if there is a 50 50 chance that this comic will go from $5 to $25, then it's a no brainer....
  8. The existing eye-rolling emoticon does not roll its eyes enough to accurately portray my feelings regarding this post. I am sure there is something in some online Troll reference website....
  9. okay solar flare is a good opportunity.... but I shouldn't post about it h Uhm so you're saying speculating on comics is evil, in this thread... this is a self published book, not a new book... I'm not trying to sell my back issues that I bought in a dollar bin, trying to convince people that they are really really valuable... The 90s bubble burst wasn't cause of individual speculators, the whole industry was complicit from the million plus print runs, the 'collector's item' printed on man of steel #1... I AM giving you new info... the website hinted at a publisher, I gave you details, AND that it is probably going to be animated as well... At first I was to keep this under my hat, but then the writer though it could help him....i.e. 'permission'. I have never lost money on these kickstarters picked up by publishers; I even made good money on 'the humans'. Cause the print runs are tiny compared... I get thanked for my tips, but this thread I always need to brace for some off comment... It's like you don't want anyone contributing but you, Probably cause you got back issues to pump and dump
  10. Does not seem to be a way of posting something like this without feeding the trolls... I shouldn't really care.... Trolls are gonna troll.... I just wince at the banality of it. Last time I posted something like this, some made a mess load of money, and some laughed at it.... ( Tephlon Funk ) I know that some of you appreciate my calling this to your attention, and some of you think I'm just selling something I invested in (never asking why I though it was a worthy investment). To me this one's a no brainer....
  11. I recently got permission from the writer to post about this: First reported on comicsheatingup was a successfull Kickstarter named Solar flare: http://www.solarflarecomic.com/store/ In the blog they hint at being picked up by an major indie publisher.... When I contacted him, he filled me in some more: "Its between Creature Entertainment, Darby Pop and Red 5. I'm also about to make a production deal with Ironklad." It's increasingly looking like it's red 5.... I like the art, but haven't read the story yet... Seems like a no brainer to me.... agree / disagree whatever... just letting you know... I'd rather not get some negative rants about posting this
  12. I think what really matters is when the character is complete in a lasting role....such that it can be named.... Alex summers 1st appeared in x-men 54, but became Havok in 57.... Which is worth more? 57.... It's the first full appearance of Havok.... now venompool? I like venol personally... The suit and everything dssw......... You see the complete character in the MU for the first time...
  13. I am just driving home from that Jays game and have a few new grey hairs. Nailbiter is a cool comic; but not sure what 'jays game is or Orioles', something from black mask?
  14. I've never even seen that variant before, through eBay or elsewhere, but I'm ready for these 8House books to pick up. Seriously low print runs for Image books, and damn good if a bit challenging stories/naratives. I am enjoying Mirror as well, but with what issue does Island start including the 8house bits? Also, that Black Panther/Deadpool crossover is another I rarely see... the only copy of the Deadpool one I've seen in the last few years is one I snagged from a dollar box, and the only Black Panther one I've found was a $25 wall book my closest LCS had, and I bought it immediately. Not necessarily a book I can't find, but anytime I find a Deadpool #65 (Playboy send up) from that run for $30 or less, I pick it up. Still have my NM+ newsstand edition I bought off the racks of Waldenbooks (or one of those mall book stores) back in the day. Love that Simone/Udon run. Well I asked Brandon Graham if 8house was continuing, and he said no but the stories were... so I asked where and he gestured torwards Island, I actually don't read Island ( I probably should )... Personally I think Brandon Graham's talents are wasted drawing adventure time for TV, and I'm ready for some more comics DRAWN by him....
  15. Sorry I can't seem to figure out the picture feature... So I got this directly from Brandon Graham, and he told me this was an error issue. They did not mean to put the expo image logo on there. He received a box of those and the rest.... they reprinted it without the logo. At this point I have not seen any other copies in the wild ( cept people I sold to ) and suspect it to be very rare. 8house #1 stories are continuing in Island....
