  2. The special RRP variant from Baltimore's Diamond Retailer Summit should be a nice gem!
  3. Completed a transaction with Roger. He was easy to work with and communicate with. Would repeat--good guy.
  4. Where are you seeing that?? Invincible #2 has a GPA 90 day average of $246 and last sale price was $260 in May whereas Invincible #11 sold for $100 Steve sells a lot of Invincible issues on eBay. He must have an endless pit of issues somewhere. Gotcha. I'm guessing these are raws then? (public sales records don't track raws, I think? Only graded ones)

  6. Depends on the grade. 9.8 blue label last sold for 1k I believe. Don't think you can find a raw vf for less than $600 these days. I agree, will be really tough to track a raw copy down for less than $600. I'd rather put $1000 into a 9.8 or a bit more for an SS but that's just me. I may not be the best source of opinion though because it is one of my favorite covers and series. Blue or yellow they look extremely sharp. Not many slabs present as well in blue or yellow IMO. Dang it, now I want a blue as well. I have a 9.8 that I'd sell for $1000. I also have a double signed yellow label 9.8 as well. Thanks for the info! I'll update your entry on the list. I probably should have added myself too but never even realized there was such a list. I have a 9.8 yellow label double-signed awesome news. Is that the same book that was once a blue label or is it new book? It's new. It was originally a raw. Oh nice. Do you still have a 9.8 Blue? YUP!

  9. This includes both hand puppetry and shadow puppetry!
  10. It adds to the visual, but I don't feel like it is a necessary draw. Invincible is a great comic book that could be easily done in the same format/ratings violence wise as Man of Steel. Hell the Superman/Zod fight was the closest we have seen to the Conquest arc live action yet. My problem with that is that it just turns Invincible into any other family friendly superhero movie, so why bother making it? As I said previously, it can work for just the origin story maybe, but that's it... and what do you do when you get to the end and father and son have to fight it out? Do you tone that down to? If you do, can you tell the rest of the story in an accurate manner (assuming they got the chance to what with box office, reception, etc)? The violence in Invincible actually plays an important story role because it is seemingly something inherent to the Viltrumite nature and is something Mark struggles with over and over again. Maybe some talented film maker can make it work, I don't know, but I'd be really concerned if I heard there was a PG Invincible movie in the works. How about a Netflix show? I doubt that would happen. Universal works almost exclusively with HBO for video streaming and picture streaming. As mentioned in this article two years ago, HBO extended their contract with Universal to last 10 years, for the very purpose of keeping their works away from Netflix http://techcrunch.com/2013/01/06/hbo-inks-exclusive-deal-with-universal-to-keep-content-out-of-netflixs-hands/ With Skybound signing a contract with Universal, this effectively means zero chance of any film, live action, animated, or even puppet series appearing on Netflix.
  11. Hmmm you're prolly right--he could be referring to all printings of #1 in general.
  12. I agree with this but I think the total would be much closer to $3k than $3.5k based on the rate of new 9.8s popping up (at least 3 newbies in the last four months). As everyone knows, I'm also in the market for one. Three newbies in the past four months is aggressive to say. I could have totally missed the boat, but I see only six 9.8 blue labels (am I the only who who doesnt care for green labels?) Anyway there were 5 blue labels for as long as I could remember and this new sixth one was a recent addition. I would be shocked if a lot more 9.8s popped up. Mschmidt is COMPLETELY right when he said "there's been no indication that there's a large stack of ungraded 9.8s out there either" This book was printed on very cheap, black paper that has shown to become very brittle, easily smudged, and handles VERY poorly when there are pressing attempts. With an original print run of around 3,000 on college paper stock back in 1991 and Jeff Smith defacing over 2000 of them himself to pass out.... we're looking at a tiny market pool to draw mint condition books. Are you saying that Jeff signed 2,000 of the copies prior to selling them? Because, well, that isn't true. Wow, I completely ignored that sentence. BChin22, did you read this somewhere? Schmidtty, I find it hard to think it's NOT true when Smith remarked on that to me himself when I was in Boston Con with him. I asked him how many #1s he's signed in his day and he told me "Probably over 2000--they're always special when I sign them."

  14. Glad you like it! There's going to be a black & white version with a print run of 500 as well. Here's all the shops that will have it. http://phantomvariant.com/blog/?page_id=7 Can we get a list here..... It seems, the page is down..... Do we know when the b+w variant will be released?
  15. I think they're awesome, see... Bone 1 CGC SS 9.8 How many Bone 1s have sketches on them? Does this become the best/most desirable Bone book now?
  16. You didn't see the leaked pilot yet? I think he nailed it FWIW. The only thing not really depicted is Constantine's chain smoking...but it's inferred. Saw the leaked pilot and I really liked it. He came off a bit prickish but that's his character, and I thought his mannerisms were spot-on. I definitely think this series has potential to be a hit.
  17. Hey Invincifans, it was cool seeing you at the con this week!
  18. Has anyone else heard of this? I was informed that there are roughly 80 copies of the SDCC RRP given out. That's such an odd number that I'm going to guesstimate there to be 75 or 100 copies to make a nice even number. Hard to believe that the number is that low. Especially since we know a boardie has at least 8 of them. Don't see skybound giving one person almost 10 percent of the print run. Someone else said it was 200. I think that might more sense.

  20. I saw the leaked Constantine S1E1 episode and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. It felted a bit rushed but overall I felt it was enjoyable and fun, with a touch of dark humor.
  21. True! Plus, honestly, I'm thinking the word of mouth will hit the streets once the Olympus storyline begins. Give it time. I'm hoping it will raise the prices for the old Miracleman coppers (/crosses fingers "COME ON BIG MONEY!")
